Not all operating systems are compatible with all peripherals as you have found out. When that happens you have to bite the bullet and purchase a component that will work in the new environment. Sorry.

it could be because its closing down lots of programmes,some of them run in the background and you dont see them. trying cleaning it up as in disk clean up or defrg if you have it,pluse get rid of any stuff you dont need anymore as in pics and music.

You need to remove the password. Local laptop tech can do it and usually it cost $25 - $50.

You might be experiencing a display issue or you just accidentally adjust some setting on your computer. There's an easy way for you to solve this concern. Please try these steps to bring back the good known configuration of your computer.

Step 1. Turn off the computer completely.

Step 2. Remove the battery from the system and disconnect the AC adapter/charger.

Step 3. Now press and hold down the power button for 15-20 seconds.

Step 4. Put back the battery in and please make sure that you connected the AC adapter.

Step 5. Turn on the computer.

it should be in the front of the laptop the very front.A series of lights and symbols should be above it look below the symbols.

My Vaio model is VGN-FS840 and after I formatted by laptop, my function key is not working, what shall I do to make it run? Can I download the driver? is it available in websites?

try using an external keyboard, reboot the computer then pre f10 key repeatedly for 5-7secs to boot to vaio recovery center.. select restore c: drive to format the harddrive to the factory defaults

if there is a liquid damage on the laptop then its gonna be for out of warranty service which may cost you 499 - $699.99.. if none, then you may call sony for troubleshooting or visit their site for free chat support for 15mins.. go to the link and click get live support

Probably a LCD malfunction.
Connect your computer to a external monitor and check whether it works fine or not.

please enable the dhcp setting in wireless router and there is an one button(with wireless icon) in laptop.just click on that button.

before that should enable the dhcp automatically in your laptop

Could also be that you have a clogged fan/heatsink and overheating, triggering the thermal controller
