It sounds like you have a faulty disk lense and no matter how much cleaning you do, that won't help the issue.

Sadly the only way to repair a faulty disk lense is by getting it to official tech support. You could try ordering the replacement parts and having it repaired by a third party or yourself but this is not recommended since it voids the PS2 warranty.

open your ps2 with the game inside and push down on the center of the game till it clicks it might not be pushed down all the way and 2 upgrade to a ps3 games are way better good luck

The problem is a read error. This means either a misaligned or dirty laser head.
The fix involves taking your ps2 apart, so it's up to you if you feel up to it!

Sadly it sounds like your disk lense has been damaged beyond repair. The only way to fix your PS2 is by getting tech support or ordering the replacement parts and repairing it yourself (not recommended).

you should send it to a technic or get a new reader, but is better if you sell your ps2.

maybe dvd readers lens maybe dirty or broken or laser isn't working and that's why moving part of the reader is smacking against its walls and not seeing the disk... cleaning disk set might work if the lens is dirty but if it still doesn't see the disk after cleaning, you might have to get it repaired... Depending on how old your console is and how much you used it, the laser unit might be worn out.

You could try to carefully clean the lens (carefully!!! to avoid scratches). And if this does not help, you have to replace the old laser with a new one. This can be done in an electronics store (propably many will do this) or if you can, by yourself.

If it's having issues reading ANY kind of discs (CD's, DVD's, PS2 games) it might be due to a malfuctioning lense or a disk rotator motor issue.

Since it's agaisnt the PS2 TOS to modify or take apart your PS2 you should contact customer support or tech support with this issue.

If the unit turns on and loads to the PS2 menu attempt to play a ps1 game or cd. if these play the laser may be faulty. if these also do not play then the opical drive motor has malfunctioned. contact sony or a authorized repair center for further instructions.

You might have a bad power supply. Unless of course, the system is so old it just decided to take a colossal s*** and stop working. It happened to my friend. Of course, we never figured the problem out because he chucked it out a window, so i can only speculate.

Do you mean that the disc is being read? If so then you probably need to replace your PS2 Slim. It would be cheaper to replace it than the replace the cd tray.

Make sure there aren't any problems with any of the ribbon cables. Make sure they're clipped down properly. It sounds like your drive isn't getting any power.

Your game disc is probably damaged and the PS2 is unable to read it correctly.

First thing I would do is to check your PS2s connection to your tv and make sure everything is plugged in all the way.
Second, I would try and find another video cable and use that to see if that fixes your problem.
Third, I would try a different tv to play on.
