Make sure you select your model laptop, better still type in the Service Tag number, it is printed on the label on the bottom of the laptop. Also make sure you select the Windows XP or Vista version of the driver for your Windows operating system.

When you connect two computers together without a network/LAN hub you need to use a cross over cable.
Both computers need to be in the same workgroup (name).
Both computers need to have different TCP/IP address and be in the same IP address range (ie a fixed IP address)
If you want to see and copy and move files between computers, the drives and or folders have to be sharing on.

This is the general network setup, you can restrict users on each computer with full access or limited access to drives and folders.

2)this may be due to improper set up of the router or the drivers.

if you are in warrranty call HP
or try to tap f11 when NoteBook starts ...and you get recovery manager....click next....you'll get system restore click yes ....and select a restore point manually ...select the date when it worked and click next and let it go thru.....

if that fails then do f11 again and click no on system restore and yes on recovery manager and click next and select without backing up data and do the recovery i.e. reinstall the whole OS

this could be caused by a couple of different issues:
1st Depending on the operating system you have loaded, it could have the wrong keyboard type or emulation selected.
2nd The keyboard or its cable could be bad, it will not necessarily quit until it goes completely out.

It's the motherboard. Check to see if yours is still under warranty even if you've had it for over a year.

Go to the website Dell/Compac/Apple and look for updated drivers for your laptop and install them.

where did the ram come from? did you buy it or pull it from another computer? its possible the chip is either defective or not for your computer depending on where you got it, its also not that much of an increase so you may not notice it i would suggest getting another 1g stick because yours should take 2g 1 in each slot.

Go into the Bios settings and locate (restart on all errors) and disable it.Then do a normal install.

The hardware USB ports are identical for both versions. Only the software and hardware controller are different.
I suggest you use a temperature controlled soldering iron with a fine tip for this job.
You need to dismantle the laptop completelt to remove the motherboard from the plastic case. Take a note of where the screws come from because they may be different lengths. Don't apply excessive pressure on the plastic case else it will break, start from one side and work around each side, the plastic case has catches to hold the halves together.
Start by rmoving the hard drive, CD/DVD drive, battery etc.

I have the same problem. I thought the problem was due to a loose cable so I opened the computer up only to find out the cables are all good. I still haven't found a solution
