Could be a hardware issue with the touchpad..

The computer model you have is actually a V5100 CTO

Step 1. To find the Audio drivers for your laptop go to the Compaq website by clicking here:

www.compaq.com

Step 2. Click on the Support button

Step 3. Select the Software and Driver Downloads radio button

Step 4. Enter Compaq Presario V5100 CTO for the Product Number

Step 5. Click the Submit Button

Step 6. You will then be taken to the Select your Operating System page

Step 7. Being that Windows 7 is not listed, you may try downloading the Windows Vista Audio driver

Step 8. Click on the appropriate Vista OS, either standard or 64-bit

Step 9. You will fidn your drivers under the Audio Drivers section.

Step 10. Download the drivers and run through the setup process.

Normally all laptops' center pin is positive and the outer cylindrical shaped metal area is negative. What is your purpose to know it? Playing with adapter may make your system dead. Be carful.

It is because of slow internet connection . This can be prevented by increasing the speed of internet connection

OK... there's a few things that can cause this....

First... You need to look at your display settings... Open the control panel and click on Display Icon. (might need to set to classic view to view your control panel icons)....
Once there... Click on the Settings Tab, and make sure your color is set to 32bit and screen size is at least 1024x768..

If All Is Set Correctly There...

If Able To.... Connect A Desktop Monitor To The Laptops VGA OutPut Serial Port....Power Laptop On And See If Same Symptoms Occur On The External Screen....

If The Same Thing Is Happening On External Screen, THen You're Having Video Issues/ which means your video chip is failing/overheating..which would mean either a motherboard replacement or a graphics/gpu chip reflow....

Also... A Failing LCD Bulb Can Cause Similar Symptoms...
Though when a LCD Bulb Starts to Fail It Will Usually Omit Pastel Colors To The Whole Screen...Pinks, Oranges.. etc....

look it may be a static charge on the motherboard but there are alot of things that make this kind of problems to cut them out try to plug the notbook on external monitor and if it worked you will have a problem with your screen if not then there is a problem in the motherboard

Check the battery or power button.

if I understood correctly you took a picture with your mobile phone and you want it into the laptop ...there are several solutions for this ...one is blue tooth if available in both devices.., second its a data cable and a driver for connection ...., or ..if you have a memory card on the mobile ..be sure that you saved the pick into the memory card not into the phone memory ...and just use the adapter that make it look like a regular SD and put it into the card reader of the laptop ...or ...if you phone has no one of these features..just send the picture as a mms to a friend,s phone that have those possibilities...or if you have internet on the phone ...just upload the picture on one of your social site and download it into the laptop from there

Try external speakers. If they work, the soundcard is OK.

Sounds like a bad video cable. Most of the time they come with the screen.

Then let the repairman do the work. As long as he has a replacement motherboard and he can make your PC like new and work again. But think about the price if it is too high that you can buy a new one. Much better to have a new one right?

You get the game unlock codes from HP when you purchase the games.

HP recalled the Pavillion laptops, one reason was the hinges .. If you call them and explain your problem LOL.. they will send you a box to send your laptop in for repair. for FREE

Disassemble the laptop, down to where you can remove the top case cover, and get to the Touchpad. (AC adapter, {Charger}, removed, and battery removed)

It states that it's a 'guide', but it's a Service Manual, believe me!

This is a PDF file download. After you click on it, you may not see
anything happening for up to 30 seconds. Usually after 10 seconds
you will see the first page. I caution you to Not look through it, until it has fully downloaded. You may accidentally break the connection.
AFTER it has fully downloaded, you can save it to your computer.
This way you can burn it to a CD disk, and look at it anytime you want. (You can also delete it off of your computer, and free up harddrive space, plus you can put the disk in another computer, and view it as you work on your laptop)

To do this click on the Floppy Disk icon. This is in the upper header, and is the second icon from the left. Hovering your mouse over it will briefly reveal, "Click to save this file to your computer or another location"

Suggest you start with Page 77 first, then on Page 125 (Base Enclosure and Top Cover), you'll find the info for removing the Top Cover. The Touchpad is in the Top Cover.

You have to purchase Microsoft Office.
If you can't afford it you can download Open Office from the Internet, it is freeware and it can open and write all Microsoft Office files.
