On my older (9 years) Bosch nexxt, when trying to access the filter, I can only unscrew the black cap. An additional white cap, which I assume is the filter itself, will Not Budge! Suggestions?

Suggestion: Perhaps you can cut it open and order a replacement thru some spare part sites on this site - Fixya. It should not cost much - prices are displayed.

My washer is alarming "suds or blocked pump"? What can I do?

Plug off the power cord from the wall mains. I give you several alternatives, sort out thru the easiest: Note your brand and model. Check on YouTube for change of motor brushes. Then disconnect your motor and check your brushes; follow noting how you dis-assemble so you can re-assemble easier. If your brushes are less than half an inch long get new brushes (thru this very site Fixya) and refit; actually this is quite easy. The spin has a lot to do with worn motor brushes. Manufactures want you to dump machines and buy; it helps them all. Not you - you shell out bucks. If you have already cleaned out your filter, which is usually just under the tub (be prepared for a lot of water; and disconnect from the wall power socket), your washer still may not spin. So look into next para below. The tech sheet is usually taped to the body of the washer inside somewhere.Note your brand and model. Check on YouTube for change of motor brushes. Then disconnect your motor and check your brushes; follow noting how you dis-assemble so you can re-assemble easier. If your brushes are less than half an inch long get new brushes (thru this very site Fixya) and refit; actually this is quite easy. Thespin has a lot to do with worn motor brushes. Check the motor housing for an overload button, usually on the back and coloured black or red. Give it a push and if it clicks then the motor might have just been overloaded and shut itself off. There is a big connector located at the motor - giving power to the motor (located under the tub) to the right side, could be loose. Disconnect the connector and refit to make sure it is tight. Before refitting the back, etc, try the spin alone; if it works you are done. Click if helped pl, at my solution. I am doing this for the enviro. (& you)

Loud humming noise when spinning

It is so common that the washing machine can make terrible noise in many ways and is a common fault. In all occasions it is important that your observation is most important and so is vital to the identification /rectification and solution. If you have noticed that machine is vibrating when it is running then the motor /drum suspension has to be inspected. Since these fittings are located on the underside of the machine it is important that you look for the noise with a good inspection lamp. Manually turn the motor and drum and listen for the noise, if so the motor bearings, the drum agitator shaft and fittings must be checked. Also the suspensions which include the shock absorbers and springs, the body clamps must be checked to be in correct alignment and not changed in position. Tightening of the mounting is also very important. Finally in most cases a drop of OIL or smear of grease on the moving parts cane solve most issues.

Suds and pump blocked

Now remove the drain hose clamps and remove the drain pump/valve, clean the drain pump/valve, use back flushing to clear off all dirt. Now test using power to see if this works and can be simulated. When refitting, the hose must be tightened properly. If the pump/valve does not work even with power then it must be replaced. If there is intermittent power to the drain valve/pump then the program controller unit is a suspect.

Cleaning a pump: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zKjKi50YBpI&NR=1&feature=fvwp

Finally the washer must be placed with a tilt- use a spirit level- so that all water will drain to the outlet port and thereby there is no residual water remaining.

Cold water intake valve is dripping

Possible that the valve is faulty, or that the bandage or hose connection is not tight . You can remove and use some tape to reset the connection, if the water drips further from the valve then it can be due to faulty inlet valve. If so replace the valve.

When I depress the start button and hold the door will not "click" to lock so the load will not start. is this a simple relay replacement ?

This can be mostly related to the controller unit but you can start by checking manually the door lock and the door switch before we can suspect the controller or even the wiring to the door switch and lock. There needs to be a feedback so that the program can RUN.

Bosch washing machine, WAS24460UC, error codes

Hi,

Unplug the Washer for Few Minutes, say 30 Minutes, and then Turn it ON. If the Error Message would not Reset, Read the Information Given by Bosch for this Error :-

However, for a washing machine Bosch list E34 as a door lock fault.

The following is from the service manual.

door lock is broken SAFETY ERROR - switch ON/OFF for reset Normal mode

- door hook is stuck - washing program is aborted - check door lock

- door is stuck - door is unlocked, if possible - check mechanic

- stiff gasket - operator control actions are blocked - check wire harness

It appears you have a problem with the door lock assembly.

Have a look at it, if it's not locking when the door is shut, I'd suggest replacing the door lock on a "fit and see what happens" basis. It's not overly expensive and would be worth trying first. Check all the items mentioned above and let me know how you get on.

Let me know,if needed further assistance.

Hope i helped you.

Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!
