Panasonic PT-AE900U Multimedia Projector - Page 3 Questions & Answers
I have a Panasonic PT-AE900U
You should first of all check that the input selection setting is correct, the "BRIGHT" adjustment setting is not at the minimum possible setting and that the "SHUTTER" function is not in use.
If the above is ok, then you should check the thermal sensor. with this, i thought i should provide you with its service manual that will guide you on how to disassemble and check these parts. please download it from
here and especially check on page 32 and on. Good luck.

I have a Panasonic pt-ae900u
I have the exact same issue with my projector and was wondering if anybody has an idea what the problem/solution could be? Have checked all internal connections, wiring, etc. but nothing is physically wrong with it. Powers on and off with no issues; bulb is working but no light out of the lens. Please help!

I just installed new lamp,now
There are a few troubleshooting steps to take. Did the lamp actually go out or did you replace it as a preventative measure?
-the video input source signal may not be connected properly
-the input selection setting may not be correct
-the "bright" adjustment setting may be set at it's lowest possible setting
-the "shutter" function may be in use.
Also just to confirm is the unit turning on? Are any lights on the unit blinking?
If you need further assistance please let me know.
Thank you,
Lee

My panasonic ae900 projector on
If the room is cold and if you have start up several times and makes a louder noise, that means that the motor of it is already overheated. If you use this several times, and if this projector is already used for years, you might consider it replacing the motor so that it will not create noise. Might us well call Panasonic for this repair...

I got longitude stripes on
Wow it sounds like this projector has a multitude of problems. It is going to be some serious repair work here... is it possible to return the lamp you bought? I would personally return it if it were me and just get a new projector altogether. By the time you are done replacing parts in this machine it is going to be well more than you can get a wholly refurbished one of these units for. I am seeing one for $1000, and you will be nearly halfway there just for the lamp. You can then sell this unit on ebay for easily $400+ and just list it as working but AS IS....
Let me know if you really want to try to attempt a repair on this unit, you will be out way over $1000 by the time you are done though.
Thanks
Tim

Hi guys, my panasonic pt-ae900
Does the amber light stay on solid or does it blink? I believe that this might be a safety failure indication. I'll need to check the service manual on this one. In the meantime, try opening and reclosing all of the access doors as well as reseating the lamp. Report your results here.
Thanks,
Dan

The intensity of the screen
I do understand that you have tried everything you can to solve this problem. I hope my tip for you would help in a little way I can.
You can either disconnect it from the board or maybe try a panasonic buld if it works. The impact will be big.
You can also try to power off your projector, remove the cables and possibly the battery (if it is there) on the device. Press and hold the power on/off key for 10 seconds to drain the excess power then reinsert the cables on it and turn on again the device. Check if the intensity of the screen goes bright.
If symptoms persist, contact your manufacturer...

Panasonic PT-AE900U Projector Lamp stops working (intermittent)
since it has worked 1200 hours or even more since u have been resetting the counter! just change the lamp, resetting the counter does not make the lamp work or not work , it is only a reminder for the user to change the bulb when it should be & that u have some balance hours left to procure a new lamp!
if the brightness is adequate, then it is a ballast problem & not lamp problem!
buy a new lamp as u will anyway need to , fit it & it may solve ur problems permanently!

My projector won't recognize any input. I get a
wiggle the cable in the inputs and check out.as the cables are new its confirmed that the cable is proper.it should detect the cable ,but because its not detecting it may be the problem of input socket in which cables are inserted..many users face this problem of input in the
projector goes bad.its a input board costs near to $100.that has to be replaced in the projector.
the
part is available at
www.repairclinic.com
or at
www.partstore.com
also try checking with all the modes like 1080,720,480 etc etc.if still the problem on all modes then it can be input problem.
if you are not familiar with doing this you can get it done by local tv repair technician familiar with this model tv.
-----------
This will help. Thanks please keep updated.please do rate the solution positively .thank you for using fixya.

My panasonic ae900 projector suddenly stopped getting power
there is 2 fuses, one in the power lead and one inside in the projector close to where the power cord enters the rear of the unit, the one inside is white in colour, remove the fuse and test it with a long nose plyers and test it with a multi meter, then you know if you need a new power supply or software
