Zen M

Hello, Akolcheva - Even rechargeable batteries eventually lose their ability to be recharged and need to be replaced. I suspect you need to purchase a replacement battery for your Zen M, install it, and charge it for use. I see there are several online sources for ordering Zen M replacement batteries. Also, since Zen M is a product of Creative, you may find better help by posting on the relevant product forum here: http://forums.creative.com/forumdisplay.php?f=3 . How do you access sd card

You can insert the SD memory card into an USB card reader and then plug it into the computer's USB port.
The computer will see the SD card as an external storage device, you can then view the contents of the SD card and copy the files to your computer.

I have the Vision M

Hello,

Is this your first time of using this Vision M with your computer?

Connect the Vision M to another computer and observe if it's going to work perfectly on that computer.

Which ever the case may be, here is what you need to do on your computer;

Insert the Vision M into your computer

Go to device manager.

Go to the name of the Vision M.

Right click on the Vision M and click 'Uninstall"

Allow the Vision M uninstall from your computer.

If possible uninstall every other device under the "Universal serial bus controller (usb).

Once this is done, disconnect/remove the Vision M from your computer.

Restart your computer.

Wait a while for the computer to boot computer. Also whatever you have uninstalled from the device manager, might install automatically. Which ever the case maybe, make sure your computer has finished booting or installing any device before you attempt to insert the Vision M into the usb.

Now insert the Vision M and wait for the computer to install theVision M, then observe if it will open this time around and you can format the Vision M thereafter.

By now it should open. But if it doesn't open, please let me know so that I may direct you further on what next to do.

I wish you good luck.

Regards.

I have a question about

Maybe the battery is dead? I know that they have been around a few years, My battery died on my 30 gig vision:m. Here is a tear-down for you to remove the battery. First off the battery is kinda hard to find I could only find it on this website ( the manufacturer) but it is in what i think is Japanese. skc. the battery is rated at 1250mAH at 3.7v and is 2.8 x 53 x 85 mm.

step 1.
Set the on/off switch to the hold position. Stick a Flathead screwdriver in and pry out the top closest to the screen. Now the bottom is a bit harder. Insert a flathead screwdriver in the reset hole and pull up at an angle. It should pop out with a little bit of force.
You have now exposed 4 screws take them out, and place them aside(someplace safe)

Step 2.
There are two clips in the center on the left and right sides holding the back plate on. Insert a small knife into the side and gently pry it apart while working your way down. Pry it up about 2mm. Then do the same to the other side. You will now be able to pull the back off completely. You can easily remove the battery.

That should fix your problem.

My Zen M 30gb shows

Hi,
Welcome to Fixya. If hard and soft reset won't fix the problem most likely the software or hardware of the Zen M is bad. I would like to know if you connect the device to the computer if the computer can still detect it as a USB device or you will just receive and error message. Please let me know what happen so that we can continue troubleshooting.
Thanks

We have a Creative Zen

Hi arlene_le534,

Have you tried resetting the player? This problem can be caused by two things: Hard drive is too cluttered and needs clean up or there's a corrupted file making the player freeze up.The issue that you have, device won't turn on and has black screen, can be fixed by resetting the system.

Here's how you can do it:

1. First, to get to the recovery mode take the battery off.

2.Next put it back in and as you are placing it back hold the power button. Hold it until you get the recovery mode screen.

3. Then choose Clean Up.

>> But if you just want to try rebooting it, that's fine and if it works.

4.Finally, after clean up is done reboot the system and observe.

If after doing it and still you have the same problem then you have to do the whole process again but choose format instead of clean up. However, please be informed that format will erase all of your files.

Hope it helps.

Thank you for using Fixya.

As the original battery was

Hi there are some batteries out there that are sold and they say they will work with the vision m but they dont. These batteries have a black label on them with the name Cameron Sino . If its this battery that is the problem. If you still have your old battery try re installing it and see if the player function properly even though the battery will not hold much charge anymore. If the player works fine doing that then the new battery is the problem. With the battery charging indication and the LED showing that just means the player is trying to charge the new battery but the player is really not seeing it.

You can go to this link below and this would be the battery you want to get

I have a creative zen m vision which is not

1 HD damage could be done when you drop the Zen and you hear noises inside, some times the display just shows the Creative logo and no more.
2 the display just show the Creative logo, no noises inside, you can tray to put in Recovery mode as mentioned in the other solution and then erase firmware then reload firmware, this firmware can be downloaded form creative page,http://us.creative.com/support/downloads/download.asp?MainCategory=213&nRegionFK=&nCountryFK=&nLanguageFK=&sOSName=Windows+XP&region=1&P
However
Before you go to all that trouble though try these steps:

1. Connect the device to the wall charger.
2. Hold the power switch to ON.
3. Put a paper clip into the reset hole.
4. Continue holding the power switch on until the Creative logo appears.
5. Select Format All from the Recovery Mode menu. (Note: THIS WILL ERASE ALL DATA FROM YOUR DEVICE! - but it's better than buying a new device)
6. When the reformatting is done, select Reboot from the Recovery Mode menu.

I have a creative micro

The heading for your question says "Creative Zen Vision:M Digital media" I do not think that there was an 8GB Vision M. I have a 30 GB Vision M and I think there was only a 30 and a 60 GB of that model.Perhaps you have another model, and it could be a 20gb, as that what you may be seeing. Any way look on the back and select your model from the Creative page here: http://support.creative.com/Products/product_list.aspx?catID=948&CatName=Entertainment+Devices+%2f+MP3+Players#

It will tell you the specs of the model you have. a further search of the site could also answer some of the questions you have about the player.
