That usually means the switch on the power supply has been moved to 220v vs 110v. The switch is located just above where the power cord plugs in.

Power comes on no video, monitor works

Try hitting the F8 key or what ever is the key for safe mode, or try F11 for boot menu, if boot menu shows boot to hard drive.If these don't work, unplug the PC, then hold the power button until the lights flash or hit again and make sure lights don't flash on.remove the side cover, touch metal, then remove the little round battery for 5mins, replace, plug in, hit power, not hit the delete key and try to boot into the BIOS, you will need to set the date and time. then move to exit and save changes and exit.

Locate the administration password inside

You can remove or change the Window's User or administrator's password and privileges. You need access to a computer with Internet access to download the Hiren's Boot CD and burn it onto a CD. Then insert this CD into the laptop/computer and boot up the laptop/computer with the Hiren's CD and follow the instructions. There are very useful utilities CD and it a Linux boot CD which contains quite a lot of Utility programs including a password removal program. open up the machine and take out the battery for at least 30 mins.don't power it during that duration.put back the battery and boot,your bios will be reset.good luck
