FIX SCREEN RESOLUTION
Depending upon the screen resolution that has been set inDisplay, the image will be distorted on these large wide screen monitors.Create a large circle image using a draw program such as Paint (hold down theShift key as you create the circle as it will draw a perfect circle).Open Control Panel - Display - Settings tab and adjust the Screen resolutionslider, increase or decrease the screen resolution then bring the circle imageto the front and check the image, if the circle is still distorted then changethe screen resolution and check the circle again until you are satisfied withthe image of the circle. When you are satisfied then click apply.
Sound card driver Problem
Try installing the latest audio driver.You can download the audio device drivers from Dell WEB site,the support download page. Make sure you select your model desktop or laptop,better still, type in the Service Tag number, it is printed on the label on thebottom of the laptop and on the back or sides of a desktop. (If the Service Taglabel is missing then go into the BIOS setting and on one of the BIOS pages,the Service Tag number will be displayed). This will open the page where thespecific drivers for your model computer are located. Also make sure you selectthe Windows of the drivers for your Windows operating system. Can i install windows7 on my desktop Dell Optiplex GX260
You should be able to but it would be better with more ram, maximum for that board is 2 gig, and a bigger hard drive.The graphics is also a consideration, if it's onboard you could do with a better graphics card. You could add an AGP graphics card. Specifications for that motherboard are here:

How to empty computer

I have an optiplex 260. The desktop was at my
press CTRL + ENTER at the same time that should disable the password security and it should boot properly. If not there is a jumper on the motherboard that you can pull to clear the password as well.

i think that your ram may have broken. ram is the stuff which is commonlyknown as memory and makes everything run. i had the same problem with mine and replaced the ram. it then worked fine.

I habe probleme ethernet controller
you will have to open up your network connections click start control panel network connections this may vary depending on your operating system look for local area connection if you see a red x or a yellow exclamation or question mark you will need to update or install the driver or it could be firewalled
click start control panel administration tools computer management device manager look for network adapters + expand Ethernet driver if you see a yellow question exclamation mark or a red X you will need to update/reinstall the driver for the device
make sure you Ethernet/internet is enabled in bios restart your computer during the boot up process you will see on your screen a certain key to press to enter set up (BIOS) press and hold that key to enter bios using arrow keys scroll to intergrated peripherals
look for SiS On Chip Pci Device press enter scroll to SiS 10/100m press enter make sure its enabledimake sure its enabledPci device arrows key scroll to nstalled
if you computer came with a motherboard disk the driver could be on it
or this disk provided by your ISP provider Internet Service Provider
or you might have to download one

u just need to have the re-installation cd of dell, and also what u need is to download the drivers of dell optiplex gx260 from dell official website for free.

Virus, can not get pc out of reboot screen and
are you sure you have a virus
restart your computer repeatedly tapping the f8 key to enter safe mode while the screen is black once in safe mode where the only things working will be your keyboard and mouse allowing you to attempt to repair your computer
you could select the option start at last known configuration that worked this will tell you if and what file has been corrupted or missing then you will know if its a hardware issue then select restart if the problem still persists f8 back into safe mode you might need to select your operating system to load into safe mode
click start control panel administration tools computer management in the left panel events + to expand then system you will see all errors in right panel right click select properties this will tell you what has occurred and the time it occurred
you might use the system restore to restore your system to an earlier time click start all programs accessories system tools you should see your system restore option if it is a hardware issue the system restore might not work

My dell optiplex gx 260 has a blank screen when I
1. From reading your issue it seems the video card is defective.2. If you have received the Windows XP splash screen and then the monitor displays a gray screen then only two things have happened here your drivers are corrupt for the video card or the video card itself has failed. 3. Suggestion: install a new video card compatible with Windows XP.4. Most Dell Optiplex desktops have the video graphics card integrated to the the mother board.
