Dell OptiPlex GX260 PC Desktop - Page 2 Questions & Answers
My lan drivers disappeared after formatting
You'll need to access Dell's
Drivers and Downloads page from another computer that has internet access, and supply the Service Tag (or other method of choice) information to obtain a list of drivers for your GX260. Assuming you're using the original LAN card, you'll have to download and install the required driver to restore network functionality from the Dell site (if other than a GX260 LAN card, you'll have to go to the LAN card manufacturer's site for drivers).
There may be more than one LAN driver from which to choose. If unsure which version you have - you'll need to get all of them and install them one at a time until you find the one needed by your machine.

How to Boot from USB in DELL Optiplex GX260
Hi Junaid

The computer would not go on onle a orange light is in the start button instead of the regular green light. how can i fix this?
An amber power light that stays on indicates that the power supply is getting power to the motherboard, but the system can't process any data.
This is one of those cases where you would need to strip down the system and start with minimal hardware installed.
First remove all the PCI cards and the memory, as well as disconnecting the drives, to see if the system gives a beep code for no memory.
Next, add back the memory, one stick at a time if you have two in the computer. Connect the hard drive back to the system and see if it will boot up from this configuration. If not, then if you are using the onboard video, try an add in PCI video card.
If it still will not boot then the problem is likely to be the hard drive, mother board or processor.
You would want to try another hard drive to test. If you can boot from this configuration, then add back the other drives one at a time, then do the same with the PCI cards. At the point where the symptom returns, that will tell you which part is causing the issue.

Orange power switch light Dell Gx260
Gx260-Gx280 have a known issue with the motherboard capaciators. Take a look at the capaciators on the motherboard and check if any look like they have bludges at the top particularly around the memory banks. If any of them look like this the motherboard most likely needs to be replaced.
Gx260 pc wont start
Have you checked the post lights located in the back of the system by where the keyboard plugs in?
There are is a row of 4 lights; either yellow or green. If the systems gets stuck at a particular post location, the lights will tell where.
Good luck
Replaced viudeo card on dell optiplex 620 sff no signal
I Agree With
However Regardless Of The Situation Make Shure The Video Card You Use Is Compatable With The PC And Then Use The Video Card That Came With The PC Provided It Still Works Properley So That You Have A Signal On The Monotor And Then Boot It Up And Enter The Bios To Ajust The Settings For The Video Card You Want To Use ! See The Manuals For Both The Video Cards And The PC!
