PC no longer detects mice

You said that you are using a USB mouse, when you tried another mouse on this PC was it also a USB mouse, or one of the more basic mice you plug into the tower? I suggest trying to use one of these mice so that you may have a working mouse, and then if that works use it to try to get at some of the input settings that could be in need of adjusting.Hope this helps some.

How do reset my compuer to factory without a cd

All versions of windows have whats called system restore.

Hopefully it was turned on.

Go to start button, all programs, accessories, system tools,
system restore, click on choose a different restore and then next,
now, on the next page click on the little box that says-show me all restore points, now pick the oldest restore point, and this will return the pc to
a state when it was new.

How do i remove stuck sd card from pc?

I used a paring knife to pull a tiny notch when trying to retrieve my memory stick duo from someone's computer. I didn't think it would work, I thought I'd have to unscrew things (omg, again: this was not my computer!) Thank goodness this worked You could also use surgical tweezers/splinter tweezers.

My dell vostro 230 desktop doesn't display anything at all, funs are moving. what can i do?

If your laptop appears to boot up and the hard disk LED flashes, then the problem is probably a back light fault. This can be a faulty inverter or a faulty CCFL lamp. Please click on this link and follow my instructions to identify the fault and possible fix :- http://www.fixya.com/support/r3598095-faulty_laptop_lcd_screen

Will a PC support 3 Ethernet cards

If it has enough slots it will. But if you need that many ethernet ports then buy an Ethernet switch box instead, it will be cheaper, easier and you can get anything from 4 ports to over 40 your choice.

I am thinking I have a motherboard problem but want to make sure I'm not missing something ,

No the problem is most likely one of the Matched pair in 3&4 Just because they are a matched pair doesn't mean they are going to fail at the same time. Try with the one of the matched pair in, if the problem is the same swap them over and see if it the same.

Dell DXC051 desktop will not boot

WARNING: Before you start troubleshooting remember that you are dealing with electricity that can KILL. http://www.kitchentablecomputers.com/static.php - rules Only work inside the computer case when the power has been switched off and disconnected. Never open the power source. Some of the below steps recommend removing physical parts within the computer. While in the computer it is highly recommend that you be aware of ESD and its potential hazards Remove the memory modules from their slots. Take the opportunity to clean the slots on the motherboards and the memory module connectors. Use compressed air to blow dust away and clean contacts with a soft cloth. Do not use a metallic vacuum cleaner if it touches any component it may create a short and cause damage to the motherboard or other components. Do not use solvent that may attract dust and never poke things like cotton buds in to slots. lightly rub an alcohol on a cloth not to hard let the alcohol do the work on the copper gold or silver tabs and r Allow the pins to dry. They will air dry in a matter of minutes. If reseating the memory did not resolve the issue try swapping the location of the memory. If you have only one stick of memory in the computer try moving it to another slot and then boot the computer. Check the memory module and memory slot contacts. They are either copper tin or gold. The colour will tell you which they are. Mixing tin and gold can result in corrosion that prevents proper contact. Look for any sign of physical damage to the memory module, memory slots or the motherboard. Reseat the memory modules. You should hear an audible click when they are in place. Do not use too much force to reseat the memory module in to the slot this can cause damage to the module, slot or motherboard. The hardware that you are trying to access is damaged or failing. The device drivers for the hardware are faulty or incompatible. Could be a problem with the Hard Drive or the Hard drives PCB http://www.onepcbsolution.com/ There is a connection problem such as a bad cable for internal hard drives Test all power and data leads that attach to your hard drive IDE,SATA the leads from your MOTHERBOARD TO THE HARD DRIVE make sure they have a secure dust free connections and are not faulty or just replace them they could be faulty if its a flat 40pin ide this will be the first to fail Make sure all leads that are attached to your drives dvd\cd and floppy (If Applicable) have secure connections and are not faulty. or just replace them they could be faulty a computer needs power and data to travel through every working device and continue its cycle and have an end so any faulty leads will end up with a computer error Hope this helps.

If you have enough slots, you can add the RAM to the existing amount. RAM does not have to be matched pairs like it used to be a long time ago.

No sound coming for my dell desktop computer

First, verify that your volume is not muted in Windows by clicking the volume icon near the clock in the bottom right of the screen. Also verify that your sound device is plugged into the correct audio port, which is usually the green one for stereo sound.Once you have done that, check the sound settings in Control Panel and make sure that the correct audio device is selected. While you are in Control Panel, check Device Manager and make sure that your sound card is listed under sound controllers. If it is listed there, check that it is enabled by right clicking it and selecting enable, which will be grayed out or simply not there if the device is already enabled. If the device is not where it should be and is instead listed as "Unidentified Audio Device" or somesuch, go to the Dell website and locate your computer in their Support section, download the audio drivers there. If you have recently replaced the sound card with a PCI or PCIe aftermarket solution, verify the same steps for that card, including verifying that the sound device is plugged into the correct plug on the back.If nothing seems wrong still, attempt to uninstall the sound drivers and reinstall them anyway. Confirm that the sound device you connected works on something besides the computer. If none of those things is the issue, you have a hardware issue with your motherboard and you will either need to put in an aftermarket sound card like I mentioned above or have dell send you a new motherboard by calling their technical support phone number.

Usb not working, mouse not working, monotor not working but computer will come on dell dimension c521

Two of the most occurring failures for a Desktop PC is;1) The computer is dirty inside2) The Power Supply is badAir flow is used to cool the hardware components inside the computer. If 'Gunk' is built up on the cooling components of the cooling system, the cooling capacity drops tremendously.['Gunk' = Dust, dirt, lint, hair, food crumbs, you name it ]If the Processor overheats it turns off. (BIOS turns it off)This is a fail safe feature to keep the Processor from burning up.(The Processor and the graphics chipset, are the two hardware components inside a computer that give off the most heat)Your computer could be dirty inside, AND you could have a bad Power Supply. The Power Supply has Heatsinks inside. Finned objects designed to absorb from whatever object they are placed against, and heat is then radiated away with the fins. The small internal fan helps carry heat away from the Heatsink's fins.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:ATX_power_supply_interior-1000px_transparent.pngIf the fins of the Heatsink are clogged with Gunk, and the fan's blades, center hub, and surrounding cage (Shroud), are clogged, the Power Supply will overheat.Heat = Wasted energyThe Power Supply will try to keep up with the call for power, but will eventually fail. (Hardware component failure inside the Power Supply)1) If ALL of the LED lights were on at once, they would use less than 1 Watt of power.2) EACH fan uses 2 to 3 Watts of power.3) A typical Processor can use from 51 to 125 Watts of power. Just depends on what processor it is.This is is why fans may spin, and/or LED's light, and/or the optical drive may/may not work. Not enough power to turn the Processor on -> non-working computer. No computer -> no video signal to the monitor. No Signal, or monitor going into Sleep Mode, or Power Saver Mode ->no video signal from computer.Computer clean on the inside, (Q-tips, and can of compressed air for computers), see if there is a working computer that is unused, so you can borrow the Power Supply for a test unit.(KNOWN to be working Power Supply, and compatible)Or use a multimeter to check the 3 main voltages, coming from the Power Supply.[3.3 Volts, 5 Volts, and 12 Volts. All are -> DC voltage. In comparison two D cell flashlight batteries store 3 Volts DC ]An economical multimeter can be purchased for as little, as $5 to $12.Available in a multitude of stores. An auto parts store is but one example.Regards, joecoolvette
