My 2 Gig mp3 player says that file format not supported

That player cannot recognize iTunes files or most DRM-protected WMA's. Downlaod files that are in Mp3 format, and you will not get this message.

You have to use Windows Media Player to transfer songs - you can get a full copy of the user's manual on Philips website.

You don't need to register to get the software. Go to Philips website, enter your model #, and then go to the Software & Drivers section for your model - download the program in the link that says "Media Converter Software". If the Media Converter doesn't recognize certain videos, such as FLV files, then you will need to download an adiditonal free program called Riva FLV Encoder to convert the files to AVI format. Once they are in AVI format, the Philips Media Converter will recognize them, and you will be good to go again.

Go gear wont turn on

Make sure the hold/lock is not engaged first.

Triple Reset for Philips’ GoGear:

Disconnect the Go Gear from computer. Press the reset pinhole until the player turns off. Hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware Wizard. If this pop-up does not appear, reset the player again WHILE connected to the computer. Open the Philips Device Manager, and go to Repair Tab. Reset the player one more time while connected to computer. Follow the repair instructions.

After repair is complete, upgrade the firmware for this player. Will erase all the songs, but you should be good to go again.

Want the deafult songs in philips go gear 2GB back

Beethoven's 5th Symphony was one of them.
You can reaquire them by uninstalling Windows Media Player, and then reinstalling it from the installation CD for the Philips - my opinion, which is just my opinion, is that it is more trouble than it's worth.
