If your computer will not power on, no matter where you plug it up in the house, then it sounds like you have a blown power supply. If you can find a power supply (exactly like the one that's in there) then you should try replacing it with the one in your computer. If that fixes your problem then you know that's what was broken...the power supply inside the case.

Usually when a computer won't power on at all, it's because the power supply has gone out and must be replaced. Firsly i would of asked what exactly the repairer did to it to solve the problem, and then ask for a refund as it is no better. But we can try and solve it here, by looking for the cause next time it freezes, go to control panel>administrative tools>event viewer, then look at 'application' on the left column and click on it and on the right a list of applications that have been run will list, look for any red 'x' and double click on that line and the problem will show and send yot to microsoft for a possible solution. look also on the 'system' again in the left panel and again look for red x's, but ignore any warning(!) marks. It may also be a graphics driver, so update you graphics driver or even try an older one from the card manufacturer web site. Another common freezing problem can be down to overheating, so take the side of the pc off and check there are no dust building on the fans and that there are no cables obstructing the air flow, leave the side off the pc whilst using and see if it still freezes. Also lastly, usb wireless network cards have been known to be a cause for freezing because of poor drivers, so if you have one try dissabling the software programme that runs your network card and enable WZC, which is Windows Zero Configuration, as this is more stable.

old PCs do that, for many reasons. but no PC told at all just HP. 40 years of PCs ,10000 + models nobody can guess ever. but I do have the answer, in pure generic form. did you buy the PC like that used and bad Wifi. ?

1. the wifi card is missing, as was super common 10+ years ago.
2. someone put in the wrong card, not from HP list
3. HP blacklists (bios blocks) none HP cards (wifi)
4. the card needs a driver to work if not it is dead or 1/2 dead.
5. the PC needs 1 more driver to make the wifi buttons all work , all buttons related, if not they are dead or act odd.
6. The OS is infected, no OS told at all, not one clue nor if upgraded the OS, and not vast drivers are wrong or missing, (classic)

bad news now your bricked it just like miillions did google bios update bricked my PC and cry. why are you here and not at HP.com only they can recover bios. they changed the rules now 10 time. so only they know this, and are pain to deal with.
