There is a switch or a button that gets depressed when you close the lid of the lamp compartment. See if the plastic of the lid is broken or not hitting it right. Not screwed down right or the lamp is not seated all the way down.

Bulb has gone. And wil cost about £200 to replace, could be time for a new projector

The bulb replacement message is not triggered by bulb condition. It comes on after a given number of hours use. If you did not re-set the hours counter to zero when you replaced the lamp then you will get this message prematurely. Don't replace the lamp until it ceases to work correctly - colour balance wrong it it simply does not light.

blue polarizing filter is burned or blue lcd panel is faulty.

Reste projector lamp (or remove and reinstall) othersise got to sony website for product assistance

Sounds like projector lamp-try reset, or take out and put back in. Otherwise check with on-line support at sony website
