It sounds like something is typing up your phone line, or there is an actual problem with the phone line. Please disconnect your computer from the phone line (if it is indeed connected to begin with). The unplug all the power from each phone connected on the line. Disconnect any faxes or any other devices (such as cable boxes, TiVO boxes, or anything else) and then plug in just one phone to begin with.

Does it still show it's on the line? It shouldn't... Plug in each device one by one starting with the phones, and make sure they all work. Then plug in anything else you have a phone line to and see if any of the devices cause the problem to come back. It's possible that device has a problem.. Try unplugging the power from that device, and leaving it unplugged for at least 2 minutes, then plug it back in.

This is almost always a worn out battery that will not charge in the handset itself. Radio Shack and Walmart want about $45 for the battery. Buy it for around 6 bucks ( including shipping ) from :-

99% it would resolve the problem.

You either asked in the wrong category, or your 5632 is working on a Panasonic or other brand phone system. The music source in the Pana system is plugged into the cabinet and marked MOH or EXT MUSIC. There will be some software programming if you are hearing the INTERNAL tune or tones.

Hello. What you are experiencing is due to the breakdown of the solder in your phone's circuit boards. This is due to the government regulations over the past several years reducing the amount of lead allowed in the solder. There is no fix for this.
You may want to start shopping around for a new phone. J.

To resolve this issue, you have to re-register the handset.

• To do this on a non-expandable cordless phone:
  Press and hold the LOCATOR/INTERCOM button on the Base until a beep sounds.
  Press and hold the FLASH/CALL WAIT button on the Handset until a beep is heard.
  When registration is complete, a beep sounds from the handset.
  Wait for 20 seconds after registration is complete to allow the handset to establish communications with the base.
  If this fails to help:
  Remove the AC Adapter from the phone base or wall outlet for a few seconds and reconnect. It may also be necessary to remove the battery from the handset for a brief moment.
  
  
• To do this on a expandable cordless phone system:
  Press and hold the LOCATOR/INTERCOM button for the extension that is displaying "No Link To Base" on the Base until a beep sounds.
  Press and hold the FLASH/CALL WAIT button on the Handset that is displaying "No Link To Base" until a beep is heard.
  When registration is complete, a beep sounds from the handset.
  Wait for 20 seconds after registration is complete to allow the handset to establish communications with the base.
  If this fails to help:
  Remove the AC Adapter from the base or wall outlet for a few seconds and reconnect. It may also be necessary to remove the battery from the handset for a brief moment.

the land line module should have the forwarding feature and also the service provider should allow it . consult the customer care if the service is available at your location.

I must share my recent experience similar to yours. I had been away fom home for over a week. The two handsets were "dead" no batteries working. Neither did the set in the base. I, without thinking about what I was doing, judged the battereies empty. Made arrangements to buy new batteries.
What was wrong was that the base was not connected to the electricity. I was rather ashamed of myself
