You should purchase a new PC or purchase the parts to build your own PC.

If you are seeing the green power light is lite up and not blinking this normally means that the computer is some what working properly.

The question I have for you is that do you get any kind of display when you first turn on the computer. Also if you listen to the computer does it sound normal or do you hear sounds that you normally do not hear.

The reason I ask this is because it is possible that the problem is with your video card and/or it drivers.

If you have access to a CRT monitor you might try connecting it to the computer to see if you get display. If you do then all you need to do is reinstall the drivers for your video card.

Is you mouse wireless if so replace the batteries. Also your resources memory or configurations may be not completed or up to requirement for using the Media Center. Often these issue are from lack of cleaning your system files or hard drive is packed up. Or a simple battery since no information has been given as to what happens to the computer when it works and when it does not. Does it completely shut down or is it just a video issue what happens when it stops working. It also seems intermittent as you described. A beep could mean a module could be going out a Power Supply Unit going bad, if you could describe the issues you are having specifically to the best of your knowledge it does assist those of us answering questions with a better solution rather than just a guess. anths8 try to get one of them cd laser cleaning cds and put that in your drive for a bit it will have some audio if it doesnt play the audio wait a bit and try again and itf itsitill doesnt then yourr drives laser has went out or somehwo the software is corrupt on the drive

There may be a setting in the Recovery setting to tell the computer to reboot while errors happen. You can check whether the fans are working so the processor and everything is cool enough and whether the memory is working fine. There are some tools to test the memory or you can replace them and see. You may also perform a virus scan just in case.

mcdevito75 here, I would first emty the re-cycle bin from the desktop, then on any page, left click on tools at the top of the screen, from the drop down menu click on delete browseing history, from here, carefully read the things you want to delete, carefully read every word. After that check speed of your computer, It won:t hurt to up-date VISTA also, Type in search from home page VISTA UP--DATE. Hope this helps.

you have to download the driver for the sound card in your pc

try to download and install the driver for the 4gb sd. so that you computer can detect it.

make sure have set the pw for the system and not for the bios. they arte two different things. also make sure u chose the option to save and exit after setting the pw. save and exit is usually the f10 key
