Dell 944 All-in-One Printer - printhead carrier jam
I just found that one of the little feeder rollers (??) on the roller bar has jumped out and is sitting (still attached by its spring) on top of the roller bar. I reckon that's curtains for the printer. Am I right or is it repairable?

Carrier jam problem
Hello,
When a carrier Jam is present you would unplug the machine move the carriage to the far left. Then plug it back in. This should reset the carriage. Now if it does not the printer will need repair. These printers are no longer in production so repair can be costly to tell you the full truth.
I would go with a new HP or Epson for a replacement printer option.
I do thank you in advance for leaving feedback.

On "print" command, paper feed
hi
you may have something in the paper feed area.. unplug all .. lift printer upside down and shake lightly, see if something is lodged in the paper feed area..
if this is not the issue, perhaps the roller(s) is off centre and requires adjusting
send me 4 thumbs up please.

I have a carriage jam,
This seems to be fault in the carriage mechanism. Start this work only if you are mechanically able with the right tools.Remove the covers to get access to the mechanism . Remove the motor drive assembly , the fitting of the motor to the mechanism. Once this is removed the carriage can be turned manually so that you will be able to see it move freely while studying if there is any obstruction.
Now you must print and see if the fault has changed. If not repeat the above work to confirm the area of obstruction.

My printer is slamming back
The problem you are facing is a hardware issue try power cycling the printer by taking out the power cable and wait for 3 minutes and try to turn it back on if the issue still persists contact the manufacturer.

Could have a corrupt driver.
Disconnect
the printer or at least be sure it is turned off. I'd do
both and when the CD software program asks you to connect the printer
to the USB port, do so and it should again work properly.
Hope this helps. Bud

I just replaced my ink
Run a few "print-head-cleaning" cycles, to get the black ink flowing through the ink-jets inside the print-head.
Some printers REQUIRE an "alignment" step every time you change the ink-cartridges.
It only takes a few minutes, and it prints one or two pages of paper.
