I had the same "unsupported ink cartridge" thing going on with hp until I got fed up and uninstalled the hp software and just used my windows devices and printers. Windows will automatically find drivers for your printer and you should be able to choose how much of that software you want to download and install. Eventually I did get some software from hp but I still use Windows fax and scan. When I had a chance to participate in a questionnaire, I made it plain to hp that it's my printer, my ink, my cartridges and I'll do what I want with them. I'll take them out and use them for a planter if I want! In the meantime, I do expect them to print with whatever I put in them. It might not be as good a quality as the original, but it's still my right.

These machines can be problematic. They are old. Pick up rollers is the common issue. Remove the tray and look up into the machine and you will see the rollers. If they have a slick place on them, replacing them will probably solve your problem. Also make sure the paper path is clean from any paper dusk and or small bits of paper. Doesn't take much to cause a jam.

Look at the power brick that is plugged into the electric socket. Is there a green light on the brick part? If not, then the power cord and supply has been blown out and you need a new one.

If not the power supply light is on, then it is possible that the printer has been short circuited. If it is under a year old, return it under it warranty.

Hi, If you printer not show normal mode then go to run and type printer spool. If not solved then go to control panel and Administrative Tools and click services option and search print spooler stop and start. I hope solved you problem. I had the same problem with my Dell 924 and after EXTENSIVE research I found a forum where about 90 percent of the people with the same problem ultimately found some sort of foreign object in the printer. I spent about 30 minutes shaking my printer to no avail then I broke out the flashlight and started looking in every nook and cranny. I lifted up on of the small black plates on the roller towards the back of the printer (if you're looking in the front) and low and behold I saw something that looked odd. Grabbed some tweezers and fished out an allergy pill in a little bubble pack. Was wedged in there to good to fall out from the shaking. Take a piece of card stock or photo paper and try to feed it through the printer manually. If starting at the top, take note of where the paper stops and that should be where your problem is. Try feeding from the top and the bottom, if the paper will not feed through, something is in it's way. Hope this helps.
