Actually you can manually remove the paper from the printer. It can be pulled out from the feed area.
And to clear the paper jam message: You have to take the back cover off, there is a reset switch in the top left hand lock hole. Use an object to push in the pin hole. After that put back the cover on. This should help you fix the problem.

This seems to be quite a common problem, you will need to upgrade the Hp drivers on your window 7 computer's.. Try driversguide.com or drivershq.com they should be able to help.

Step 1: Manual Temporary
1. Turn off the printer. And disconnect the printer cable.
2. Press and hold the POWER button, turn on the printer.
3. The indicator (L.E.D.) should be green.
4. Press and release the RESUME button , the indicator (L.E.D.) should be orange.
5. Press and release the RESUME button again, the indicator (L.E.D.) should be green.
6. Release both buttons.

step 2 : Software for Permanant
1. Reconnect the printer cable.
2.Open General Tools software and select (USB PORT)
3.Choose (SET DESTINATION 1) And it should be reset.
Sofware Download "After service mode Pls use software for permanent reset

You will need to select your Operating system, then press the + next to Drivers, then select the driver package you want. To get the closest to what the CD had, select the FULL feature package, not the simple PCL or PS package.

When I print a drawing on A3 size paper the hp deskjet printer 1280 is
giving a blank sheets but When I print the drawing on A4 it prints fine

the problem of your printer is the mechanical board try to switch off for the moment and turn back on, remove the plug form the wall outlet. leave it off for 5 minutes.

Use HP Deskjet 1220C Driver that is inbuilt in Windows 7. Install it manually.

There are no software drivers available for the HP Deskjet 1280
Lucky for us because this printer is great.
You can use the HP Deskjet 1220C drivers for this printer.
