Did you remove the sealing tape? 5. Remove the new print cartridge from its packaging, remove the orange cover from the print cartridge, and then pull the orange tab straight out to remove the sealing tape. 6. Squeeze the blue release levers on the print cartridge, holding it with the roller facing you. Lower the cartridge straight down into the carousel until it is firmly in place. 7. 2840 Memory Cards not recognized

Have you got it fixed yet ?

If not, are you quite handy with a Philips screwdriver ?

I have managed to fix mine by looking on the HP service forum under a post called "LJ 2840 seen as LJ 2830". Just g00gle it.

My printer Hp Color laserjet 2840 is given an Incorrect yellow initially, after i bought the catridge it is telling me of 52.4 error how to go about it.

Take the cartridge out and reseat it. If you bought a compatible toner I would order an OEM HP brand toner. These machines don't work well with compatibles.

Hello, The Magenta or RED toner cartridge should be removed and double check that you have indeed removed the pull tab located on the side of the cartridge which will remove the sealing tape off the new toner cartridge. The YELLOW toner cartridge on the other hand if it is not new then it is perhaps empty and needs to be replaced. Another option is to remove the YELLOW toner cartridge from the machine, Tap it and shake it side to side to loosen the toner that is in it, and replace it back into the machine, this will usually make it start to work again! If you are getting a repetitive dot on the page and only blue then it is likely that your Cyan cartridge is bad.

According to manual it means:

"Carousel rotation error: Replace the carousel drive motor or if the problem persists, replace the DC controller. It the error still persists, inspect or replace the engaging detection flag."

I think that you need to take it to service.

Half page printing

Normal 0 Driver could be corrupt.
Disconnect the printer or at least be sure it is turned off. I'd do both and reinstall the CD software program that came with the printer. When the software program asks you to connect the printer to the USB port, do so and it should again work properly.

HP LaserJet 2840: Page 'Too Complex'

We would like to inform you that the error you are getting is not because of the printer driver installed on your computer but due to the USB speed setting on the computer.



. Please perform the following steps on the printers control panel.

a) Press the Menu button.
b) Press 2 on your keypad and then you will see Secondary Service/Service Reports.
c) Press the right arrow button until High Speed USB appears.
d) Press the Enter button.
e) Press the right arrow button until OFF appears.
f) Press the Enter button.

Print something from the computer to test for the issue.
The first print after performing the steps will take a little time to print but the remaining page will print in the normal speed.

Selection to turn off high speed USB clears out the memory and next print jobs works better, because the memory is no longer fragmented.

3. If the error persists, please perform the below steps:

NOTE: If possible, print a configuration page and menu map prior to performing a cold reset.
This will document the current settings for later reference as performing factory default settings will clear all the information stored in the printer.

Perform the following steps to restore the factory defaults using the device control panel.

a) Press the Menu button on the device control panel.
b) Use the < (Left Arrow) or > (Right Arrow) button to select Service, and then press the Enter button.
c) Use the < (Left Arrow) or > (Right Arrow) button to select Restore Defaults, and then press the Enter button. The device setting will revert back to the factory default settings and the device will restart.

When printing it says

check the printing file size. Also check that USB high speed is set to "off" in the secondary service menu. Default is "on" and can cause this message.
To enter the menu press "Menu" key followed by the "2" key and scroll to the USB setting.
