This is non network printer, you can't print just like a network printer , but you can install the printer in local system and share it & install the drivers in desired systems through local system where printer was connected. It will work like a network printer but scanning is not possible to other systems except local system.And one more drawback is your won't get print, if local system is switched off..

Try first removing all paper from paper trays and then reinserting cartridge, etc.

There are sensors in a printer and it sounds like the sensor is not recognized. You can place the printer in service mode and test the trays and all hardware components for exact cause. This is a common error.

I had a similiar problem and was using Windows Vista which was not compatible with the XP Installation package. The onboard drivers would not work either. Check to see if your printer is compatible with your version of windows.

The instruction to use scanner in HP Laserjet 3050

Click Start, click All Programs or Programs, and then click HP. Click HP LaserJet
3050/3052/3055/3090 all-in-one, and then click Scan.

Click Setup.

Select Change the destinations that show up on the all-in-one control panel when I press
the Scan To button, and click Next.

Select Allow me to scan by pressing the Scan To button on the all-in-one....
Move the destinations from the PC window to the All-in-one window.

Please follow the following steps.

1) Turn off the printer.

2) Shutdown the PC to which the printer is connected.

3) Remove the USB/Serial cable through which the printer is connected to the PC and reconnect it back and replace the old cartridges with new ones.

4) Now switch ON the PC(only PC and not the printer)

5) Let the PC boot up and login to windows.

6) Now switch on the printer, PC should detect the printer automatically now.
Now you will be able to print.

> Switch off the machine, remove power cord,> remove right,left & back doors,> see the snap shot observe sensor & spring> clean the sensor from dust > check spring dislocated? fix it properly, ensure that sensor flag maintain its home position> insert/remove cartridge,observe sensor flag moving properly > Power on the machine, check.. OK?,

Press MENU and then press 2.Press < or > to select LOCATION, then press 'check mark'Press < or > until correct LOCATION appears. Then press 'check mark'Press 1 to confirm. The printer will now power cycle.

The 'separation pad' needs to be cleaned or replaced. It's a small rectangle piece of rubber at the entrance to the automatic document feeder(ADF). It should be just under the feed roller.A drop of isopropol alcohol on a lint free cloth should work.

My printer now spits out the paper all over the place and jams up all the time. Did not happen when I first got my 3050 a few months ago.

Detach optical scanner cable,belt take out scan assm (which is moving while scanning), hold it carefully, remove choke board(A small board under the unit to supply the power to florescent lamp), remove the upper cover, clean reflecting glasses fixes in the unit with ear buds gently, fix it back carefully, check,..see the snap shot of ccd..
