-Try to turn off and turn on your printer

That usually means that the printer head is dry and could possibly be burned out. Could try bringing it in for repair but I would just get another one and don't run it low on ink because the ink actually cools down the printer head, and when you run out it can overheat.

i am not sure of the steps which you have follwed till now,

just try performing the steps below..:

click on start
click on run
type msconfig and click on OK
click on start up tab
uncheck the HP related options from the list...
also check the option " hide all microsoft services"
apply ok..

if the issue persists, write back..

This is a series defect and printer needs to be released.

Call HP at 1-800-474-6836 and avail UPGRADE.

latest printers will not use costly cartridges and does ot have this type of problems.

This could be a problem with the paper your using. Try another brand of paper that is recommended only for the inkjet printer. Paper that is meant for Laser does not always work will with inkjet printers as it is made to handle toner and not ink.

Some paper I suggest is the HP Brochure paper C7020AC 48lbs which is recommended for your printer by Hewlett Packard. If not available try and see if you can get something similar that is only for inkjet printers. 8.5 x 11 in, 48 lb, 100 sheets C7020AC

1. Make sure the printer is correctly connected and powered on.
2. Right click the printer icon (in Printers and faxes) and select "Use Printer Online".

No, Check whether any peice of paper or dust is accumulated on the paper feeder sensor. Rectify the same will resolve your problem.

Can you please let me know which light is flashing? There are several lights like resum light, status light etc., Please provide this info and we will fix it in a jiffy. I think it is most likely to be a cartridge alignment problem/ cartridge not aligned correctly/ the tape is not removed from the copper contacts or the cartridge.
