whe charging im gettin a flashin yellow light which i know is waiting to charge it says see manual but i dont have 1 can u help thanks lee
Clean your battery contacts with a pencil eraser and see if this clears up the problem. If not, your batteries may be needing replaced. When batteries get old or are shorting out this is common. Rechargeable 2-way radio batteries have the following life expectancies. NiCd 18-24 months; NiMH 14-18 months; and Li-Ion 12-14 months.

I'm looking for rubber/plastic antenna for a Motorola Talkabout 250. Where can I purchase?
Get a plastic tube (3/8 PVC will work) and use it as a mould. Pump it full of black RTV silicone. Fixed!

The battery is fully charged on the walkie talkies and all are on the same channel, however out of 12 walkie talkies only 2 will work. When ever you push the push to talk button the walkie talkie shuts off and this is happpening with 10 out of 12 of our walkie talkies.
Your batteries are either no good, or not charged. When you press the PTT button it takes more energy than being in standby mode. If you have a battery problem it will fail quickly when the PTT is pressed.
Rechargeable batteries last approx. 18-24 months. Check your battery for a 3-digit date code. It is usually a 3 digit number followed by a couple of letters. The numbers tell the date of manufacture. The first number is the year, followed by the week of the year. 025 would be 2010 the 25th week. (or if very old it could be 2000 the 25th week.)
If you feel age is not a problem, you might check your charger(s) to see they are fully powered, and clear of debris on the contacts (and the radio contacts as well). Clean with a pencil eraser if needed.
A few tips: Be certain when placing your radios on the charge they are turned off. Check your wall outlet to be certain it doesn't get shut off with a light switch. Expect to replace your batteries every 2-3 years.
Best regards.

the battery is flashing red when charging
You do not mention which model of Motorola radio you are charging, so this will be basic information: Typically if a charger blinks red when the battery is initially put on the charger, you either have:
1) Dirt contacts. Solution: Clean with pencil eraser, both radio and charger contacts.
2) Shorted or bad battery. Solution: Replace the battery.
3) A bad charger. Replace charger.
Some simple troubleshooting might determine your problem. Try the battery on a different charger and see if you get the same blinking light. If so, you have a battery issue. If the problem disappears when you place it on the known good charger, then you know you have a charger issue.

key fail for motorola xts 2500
Sometimes portable radios forget their encryption keys, especially when it takes you longer than 30 seconds to change a dead battery. You may have to either re-flash the key into the radio or else change the software setting from security hardware equipped to NOT security hardware equipped, or else just ignore the key fail warning and realize that your transmission is no longer encrypted like it used to be.

my motorola 2 way has an H Push To Talk and a L PTT what is the Difference ? in addition I got a head set that auto turn on VOX command, can this be turned off ?
You do not mention the type of Motorola radio so these comments will be generic in nature:
You need to have your radio turned off when plugging in a headset or audio device. Then press the PTT once after turning on the radio. This should aclimate the headset to the radio. If you were to plug in the headset with the radio turned on, it will appear to be in VOX. But will be stuck with the Transmit side open.
Your H and L PTTs are likely a high power 1-2 watts and a low power one half watt setting. Without the radio model and user guide, we cannot research this further.
Best regards.

i can talk through my motorola but i cant hear anyone talking back
Check your Code setting. Both the frequency and the code must be identical for the units to communicate. Shut off any special features and keep the radios at a simple setting until you get communications back.
