Motorola Walkie Talkie 2-Way Radio - Page 4 Questions & Answers
What is the talk range on the motorola FV100
They don't go very far. They're okay for work around the house and very limited distance but once you get about half a mile away they start to break up. It should be noted that all radios - especially of such low power - are affected by atmospheric conditions and obstacles that may be in the signal path.
When I place the walkie
Generally when a radio shuts off when you press the PTT button it is a sign of a bad or poorly charged battery. It takes more energy to transmit than to receive. The fact you have a charge which the light does not come on indicates you have a bad charger or bad connection between the radio and/or battery and the charger. Clean your battery contacts (on both radio and charger) with a pencil eraser and see if it clears up the problem. If not, you have either a battery or charger problem.
Best regards.
Motorola Walkie-Talkie will not turn on.
Unfortunately problems involving electronics don't fix them self. If the radio did not work and then it worked after a day or two then it is quite possible that you did have water in the radio. if this is the case. then you will probaly have more problems in the short future as the contaminants from the water start to destroy the board. In this case the best thing to do is open the radio and use an electronics parts cleaner like the tuner cleaner from radio shack and clean the board. Trust me, I have had many customers that have ignored the problem and it cost them later.
Good Luck
