The beep and no shutter action is usually because the auto focus is not focused. If you are using a zoom lens try backing up or unzooming a little.

format it once in other cameras and use in yours. it may worl sometimes

Reset your camera by selecting initialize option in camera menu.

try a reset ... maybe it will solve the issue

You need to use you fingernail and pop off the entire button assembly. When you have done this you will be looking inside your camera.

Set the new button assembly into the slots. It will not want to go on by just pushing down. The plasitc assembly is very slick so put a small piece of scotch tape the yellow stuff. I put the tape around the plastic assembly. Make sure you are only putting tape on the chrome plastic assembly. The reason for the tape is to get a good hold of the plastic asembly.

Once you have the tape on the assembly/chrome piece you need to really push down and twist clockwise. You will hear a click and then another click. Make sure you hear two clicks. I had to push and twist pretty hard to make it lock into place.

It sounds like weak batteries in both cases. The zoom motor takes more power than displaying pics. DON'T USE "HEAVY DUTY" batteries - they're for kids toys. Use alkaline or rechargeable, and charge the batteries for AT LEAST 15 hours, even if your charger indicates they're fully charged after 1 hour. Please leave feedback if this helps.

Does the finder LCD work ? Push the button directly to the right of the eyepiece to toggle between the large panel LCD and the finder and PLAY a recorded pic. If it will display a recorded pic but not display a live pic, the shutter blades are stuck together. It'll have to go to repair - about a $105 repair.

I take a picture and go back to view it and file error shoews up. Can those phtos be retrieved?

hey, i have one too, just take the camera out of auto adjustment and put it in say, program auto or some other setting on the thumb wheel...

check the smart zoom precision zoom setting

take off the lens cap

you have a defective memory stick.
get a genuine Sony stick, even though it costs more than the fake stuff.

First try resetting the phone to factory defaults..... After that if the sound still persists, it could be because of the interference of the external sounnds with the microphone of you camera.....Just try reducing your camera volume to nil.....And if the problem still persists, it could be the problem with the hardware...

Take no more pics until you've recovered the photos, take the card out of the camera. Here's some freeware photo recovery software that should be what you're looking for:
