Sony Cybershot DSC W150 - Error Message

Hey Mark ! Have you ever noticed that when some bad guy is being looked for , did something pretty bad, that the authorities have records of "EVERYTHING" the guy did, even months ago? They come up with receipts, security camera footage, etc. Well how about this ?? "If they can do this for the bad guys, why can't they do it for the good guys ??"No receipt? you'll be on video, and if you press the store for that, they can easilygo back in their records. Also, did you pay cash, or did you pay with debit card, or credit card? They will certainly have records. Lastly, something I learned from my Grandmother. When all else fails, put the smart phone & computer a way, pull out some white paper, see if you still have a blue ink ball point pen, and write a polite letter to the Head of Sony Marketing, something like that, and explain your problem, as a loyal, but upset customer, who just wants to be treated fairly. I am telling you that while it doesn't work "everytime", it sure does work a lot ! Just 1 old fashioned, hand written letter, is worth more than 100 emails, that are just so simple to do, and really, how often do we really respect them, in the ocean of junk that keeps flowing? Most people are "good people", and the head sales folks, often take an interest when a legitimate grievance comes their way. By the way, you'd be surprised when you send a hand written note about something you really liked as well, as "Free stuff, just feels, looks, or tastes BETTER !!" A couple of weeks ago, a certain "Margarine Company", had this 50% lighter Margarine, so I bought it, and on my raisin toast, it was like water, it turned 1/2 of it into mush ! I did what I just said you should do, I w rote to them, and in 8 days I had a cheque for $12.00 ! Not much, but they did the right thing. Stand up for yourself, be polite, and honest, and you just watch what happens, OK? Go get 'em !! ( nicely ) Geoff

How to transfer pics from sony cyber-shot dsc-w100 digital camera

The best way to transfer pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries. Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo management program such as Picasa. Organize edit and share your photos

My Sony DSC-W100 says "Turn the power off and on again" but still wont take any pictures! The screen just stays black. Anyone know what is wrong with it and how much it will be to get it fixed?

OMG - I had the same error, when I turned the camera on it said "Access" and then "Turn the power off and on again".
I have turned it on and off over and over again! THANKFULLY I took "Guest's" advice from September 12, 2007. After hitting it a few times on the carpet, I still received the error, BUT while the lens was retracting in and out I hit the top of the camera beside the power button with my knuckle and it WORKED!!! I can take a picture again. Thanks so much for the advice. Hope this helps others.

How can I download pictures from my Internal Memory from my Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W100 to my computer?

Two options: If you normally transfer your pictures by connecting your camera to your computer, remove the memory stick from the camera before making the connection.Alternatively, if you use a card reader to transfer the pictures directly from the memory stick, use the "Copy" command in the "Memory Stick Tool" submenu to copy the pictures from the internal memory to the memory stick. The Memory Stick Tool and the Copy command are described in the "Memory Stick Tool" section of the manual (beginning on page 53 in my copy). If you need a manual, you may download a copy from here.

Zoom

It looks like a problem with the zooming mechanism (lens would not retract or extended) Press the power button on and hold it down while extending and twisting the telescopic zoom lens. It might fix your problem. In any case it could not make it worse

Want to recover deleted photos from my dsc100 sony memory stick

Chances of recovery can be high as long as you act as soon as possible and stop using the digital camera to take more photos or videos, also keep the camera memory stick in good shape (no physical damage). Then you can rely on a digital camera data recovery software to get the job done and retrieve your photos. Here shows a list of good ones working under Windows or Mac: http://www.digital-camera-recovery.com/You'll need to connect the camera (mass memory stick) to your computer. Then install the program to start scan & recover your pics!Good luck

When i turn on my camera it says Turn the power off and on again

Hey, my camera the dsc- w80 did the same thing. When I turned it on, the lens opened 3-4 times and then it said "turn the power off and on again".
When the lens opened an closed, I pulled on it with my fingers and twisted it. I kept doing that: Turned the camera on and off, kept pulling and twisting the lens and now my camera works again!

Sony camera wil not stay on reads lens erroe 112 and turns off how can i fix it

Lens errors (system errors on Sony) are fairly common. Usually it's sand or grit interfering with the lens extension mechanism. Or the camera's been dropped with the lens extended. Or the camera has been powered on, but the lens had been blocked preventing its extension. Or the battery ran down with the lens extended ...Here are some troubleshooting steps that you can try that may (or may not) correct it. They only seem to work for less than 40% of the lens errors, but if the camera is out of warranty (or repair cost approaches that of the camera), they're worth that try. Some of the later steps do involve some risk to the camera, so carefully weigh your options before deciding to conduct them:

Lens is going in and out

It is problem of lens mechanism and lens assembly will be replaced to fix the issue.
Local camera repair shop will help you to replace lens assembly because it is not user level repair.
