Laptop does not detect dell 2000FP

NO PC stated(wow 1) are you web connected, if now why expect PnP to work>? you do not need any drivers for any monitor. the config files for it only limit max resolution why not lower the resolution your self in windows to 1600 x 1200 at 60 Hz !!! then it works , every time that is if the CCFL lamps are not dead, as all are now. those lamps do not last 15 years, if used for 15 years. not possible. buy a 2010 or newer LED monitor and dump this ping in the bin. drivers are only for GPU chips only (screen answers) the monitor runs a config file only, you can even read it and edit it of you wanted this monitor was first made in 2001, yah 17 years ago and microsoft does not support monitors that old. now. the unstated PC , needs to be core2 and intel gen 5 and newer or you can not upgrade to w10 . 64bit rules are not the same w7 and 10, w7 is more lax but do consider the facts on 10. why post lacking what PC this is.? my guess its a relic of no value, at all. some old XP box from 2001?

What is the rating of the SMT fuse on the inverter

You can try this, solder in a 1/2watt 1 Ohm flame proof resistor (MOX, Metal Oxide) in place of the fuse (a lot of company use this instead of the fuse) just to see if it evevn come on or the resistor will get real hot if it has shorted out MOSFET. You should Ohm out the MOSFET and also check the value and the ESR of the two electrolytic caps, if they are bad it can cause the power supply to go into oscillation and draw too much current. i do this all the time so I do not waste my good fuse.
If it stay on then you can measure the DC voltage across the resistor then you can figure out how much the current draw is and then get the fuse with 25% higher than the current draw. I use PICO fuse for replacement.

The replacement board is very expensive.

Lcd monitor has streaks

Dear i can send an information of your monitor problem please follow the instructions and make your monitor is right.

I suspect that there is a defect in the LCD panel.

Unplug it from the computer and see if they go away.

Try the monitor on a different computer and/or try a different monitor on your computer.

If the problem follows the monitor, then you need a new one. If it is under warranty get it replaced.

If it follows the computer then you may need a new graphics card.

Thanks.

I have Dell 2000sp monitor that was working fine.

The only problem if it is the monitor that it could have is the connection. Check see if you cable is kinked coming out of the computer, and is conected properly. Usually everything else would be a problem with the computer.
You can also try hitting the buttons on the monitor to see if stuck.

Colored vertical lines

It is a tossup between a bad LCD panel and the logic board. The only way to tell for sure is to change out the logic board or have it tested on another unit. Checkout www.lcdrepair.us for instruction videos on that unit as well as parts.

Dell 20

Dear Tirat

Hello Dave, well unfortunately your problem here is not going to be all that easy to resolve as components that burn out are not always visable to the naked eye. However, there are logical methods of approach that you can undertake to possibly find out and recify what has caused this fault. Let us start by looking at the supply signal (DC current) that is received into the monitor unit. By using instruments such as multimeters and oscilloscopes on components at power supply source, you may be able to work out ifany of the crital parts have broken down. For instance, Capacitors are rated on the farad scale or microfarad in the case of small DC circuits carrying low voltage (uF). So it may be worth checking service sheets in order to find out what the read ratings and load ratings are, then compare them to the read ratings you have.....If they dont match, then you have found the fault at supply source, and the same methods can be applied throughout the entire DC circuit. It is time consuming, but it will make for a good project, and if you find the fault, then components are fairly cheap to acquire from either partstore.com or maplin electronics.

There is one other possible reason for the smoke and no burning marks, an that is tha you have only concentrated on the main PCB, so i recommend looking at the back-light and LCD Unit itself. Both of these components carry large enough voltages for smoke to be produced, and the burn/ scortch marks are not so evident unless you ae specifically looking for them here. What you will be ooking for, is a small strip-ligh or florescent type tube with either smooth soft white or black wires attached to it, the insulation of this wire is smoother and largely differs from that of other wiring within the unit, so this component will stand out to you.....Once you find the tubing, if it has been burnt, or had a fire the tubing will have been broken, and you will need to replace this and first find out what caused the fault to happen in the first place....WARNING....LCD SREENS AND CERAIN COMPONENTS CARRY HIGH CURRENT AND VOLTAGES THAT MAY BE HARMFUL IF YOU COME INTO CONTACT WITH THEM, SO BE SURE TO POWER DOWN, AND PROPERLY DISCHARGE THE UNIT FOR 24HRS MINIMUM BEFORE UNDERTAKING ANY DIRECT CONTACT WITH COMPONENTS. IF IN DOUBT, CONTACT AN APPROVED SERVICE ENGINEER.

So as said, your best bet is a logical systematic approach, deal wth the supply source first, then trace back to the display in order to find your fault. The other main reason for this is that to replace a power supply and a few components at supply source within the monitor is cheaper than shelling out for a new screen and backlight. So always start with the cheapest first.

Lastly, your other indicator that you may have either blown LCD or backlight is evident if the power LED (green light on screen) is on, but you get no picture, however this can vary from model to model, as the internal circuitry is arranged differently on other monitors, but its still well worth a look.

I hope that this has proved useful for you, and if you do need further assistance, then please do not hesitate to mail me back as so i can assist you further, i will b here pretty much all the time, so just feel free to ask me or comment, nd i will endeavour to respond

yours sincerely

oz

Check out Big Fish Games. It is a subscription service but they have all types of games including adventure and hidden object. You can also tryp Pogo since they have both a fee and subscription service. Last, but not least, you can try one of your local computer stores or the electronics section of "big box" stores like Target, Walmart, Kmart, etc.
