Oster 4724 Rice Cooker Questions & Answers
Rice burning at bottom of cooker
Your cooker, along with mine, cooks very hot. If it is new then you can take it back, but if you want to cook with it then you need to stir the rice often. About every 5 minutes should be good. As soon as it is done you need to remove it from the cooker.
Let's see how that works.
Oster 4724 rice cooker stopped working, blown fuse
I have fixed these several times. That fuse is a thermal fuse and a new one can be bought at electronics parts stores (Radio Shack?). I just bypass them with a piece of wire but then you risk a fire if it overheats again. Those fuses come in various temperature ratings, so get one that's higher than the one currently in it. Normally the lever should pop up when all the water has boiled, stopping the heating element before the thermal fuse blows, so you may have another problem. The lever is attached to a bi-metal spring that flexes when a certain temp is reached. It may be "tired".
