Hi! On a few HP L1955 monitors (about 5 years

no person can tell you worth. a bad monitor is worth nothing so, any repairs are pure faith , and mostly folly. CCFLs are not with fixing, unless parts are free and labor free. ive fixed, many but used part on the inverter was like $5 and my labor to me is 0$ but it can bet the lamps, and new lamps are not cheap and some are a very difficult job to reach... why not just buy a use good LED monitor. end the CCFL for ever, now... that is the best ideal NOW. IMO

Inverter boards usually are replaced in full - even in a repair shop. There's little demand for board schematics. Next to this the CCFL tube could be broken instead, with the inverter board still working.

Inverter boards can be tested with an oscilloscope - just holding the leads near the board will show a 58 Khz sine wave.

I have hp 1955 lcd

It may have bad power supply or inverter circuits due to bad DC filter caps with domed tops.
If you are going to DIY and already try the monitor with another PC, and have proper tools and know safety precaution then please read on: Most common failures in the LCD monitors are bad capacitors (bulging top/seal or leaking) in the power supply (they should be replaced in a set), blown fuses; poor solder joints, failed inverter circuits (blown fuse, shorted transistors, shorted/open transformers), bad lamps (poor solder connections or worn out lamps). You will need to open it up and inspect the inside, see example of failed HP and other monitors to get some ideas what to look for: http://s807.photobucket.com/albums/yy352/budm/ Post back what you see inside so we can guide you further and it will help out other people in the future also.

MY SCREEN IS BLACK IS THERE ANY WAY TO FIX IT

if there is no power getting to the monitor ( indicator light ), test the fuse in the power lead first.Ensure it is inserted tightly.
If there is power to the monitor, the green indicator light should be steady, if it is flashing there is a problem with the display

Test the monitor in another computer or laptop.

If t stays black , I'd supect a faulty backlight or more probably a blown power capacitor whih will need checking and replacing

The image on my hp

The most common cause of this problem is faulty capacitors(electrolytic and SMD) . Take off the back cover and look for capacitors that are cracked, puffed at the top or leaky. SMDs should be tested using a multimeter with capacitance measurements. If it all sounds too complicated to you, take it to any standard electronics shop that sells components like ICs(like radioshack) and have them test the capacitors and replace them.

Screen just went black, power light on; is there

Try disconnecting the video source; most monitors will inform you of the missing signal by putting a warning box on the screen if they are functional. Before ditching it, I would try connecting the monitor to another computer or borrowing a monitor to make sure your internal video source is working.

I want to adjust my screen , its is streching

Look for "buttons" on the bottom-front or bottom-edge of the monitor.

One button will activate the OSD ("On Screen Display). Through the OSD, you can change the "vertical size" and "vertical position" of the display.

How do I remove the bezel from my hp l1955 monitor

There usually screws hidden behind stick-on plastic covers on the front and or edges of the screen. Use a sharp point to lift off these covers to reveal the screws.
The bezel will also have plastic catches/clips that secures the bezel to the lid as well as double sided tape. Slip a thin blade between the glass screen and bezel and gently lift the bezel free. Start at a corner and gradually work along each side.
Be careful not the apply too much pressure on the glass (it is easily cracked) and be careful not to scratch the screen.
