I had the same problem with my integra receiver. You can use RCA plugs which will do the same thing and not use HDMI the fix is cost prohibitive from what I was told.

Bad SD board

The source of the problem is not the sustain board but the main audio/video board. The one that looks like this(part sjtnpa4360s). Verify if the part number matches with the one in your set. I found one on shopjimmy for 35$

How are you connecting the display to the laptop? what kind of cables are you using? please be very specific about the cables that you have, post any and all details you see on them.

I had a similar problem with the blue tint going away. I solved it by replacing the terminal board with a new component board I picked up on eBay. You can also use the PC input with a D-sub connector using a component cable adapter.

If the lines are 2 or more inches wide and stationary then this could mean a bad buffer board, when ever the lines are thin less then one inches wide then this indicates a bad panel. Now if the lines are moving then its possible that you are getting a 60 cycle humm in one of your inputs. Or the power supply is causing the problem, to be honest the most common failure in panasonic plasmas is the power supply. I would turn on one source at a time to see which source is causing the problem. One of the sources may have a defective power supply and sending the hum into the unit.

check the cables.

This sounds like a bad logic board. On this model, Panasonic calls it the "D" board aka Format Converter, Plasma AI Processor. It takes the video info from the main board and processes it for the display panel. Repair is board replacement.

Your plasma cover screen should be glass, not plastic. I have no knowledge of Panasonic or any other manufacture that made a plasma TV with plastic....all plasma TV's have a glass cover. Clean the surface with a rubbing alcohol solution and a cotton ball.
