Cuisinart Grind and Brew 10 Cup Coffee Maker - Page 8 Questions & Answers
My coffeepot worked fine yesterday and then when I
I'd start by cleaning it. Simple white vingar will work, but what I have found works even better is CLR (calcium, lime, rust). I usually put in a cup of CLR and 5 cups of water, turn the coffeemaker on for a minute to get the water started into the machine and then turn it off for 15 minutes, then turn it back on and let it run. Put a filter in the basket and you'll be surprised what comes out.
Then I would run a pot of water and vinegar, about 50/50 and then flush it with 2 pots of just water..
My machine doesn't brew -
i have a 12 cup programmable cuasinart coffee pot sometimes when i turn it on it will brew right away and sometimes it takes forever to brew. what could be the problem?

Hello. I just talked to Cuisinart and they recomended running a solution of 1 part vinegar and 3 parts water through the brew cycle, then a full pot of plain water to rinse, to remove hard water deposits. The phone # to Cuisinart is 1-800-726-0190. I hope all works out for you.

While Cuisinart makes great home appliances, unfortunately they do not sell parts to anyone (no repair shops, not to individual customers) in order to fix what problems may occur with their products. The only way one can get a Cuisinart machine repaired is if they send the machine direct to the manufacturer where they have their own in house repair center.
Grinder not working
Hello,
Coffee
grinders have single-speed switches that can easily become clogged with
coffee grounds. They also have problems with dull blades and overheated
motors from use. Follow these steps to fix a coffee grinder.
-
Unplug your coffee grinder and remove the screws underneath the unit to free the baseplate.
-
Check
the power cord. Make sure your power cord appears to be in good working
order. Any scrapes or problems with your power cord can cause coffee
grinders to not work properly.
-
Check the brushes on the motor. Look to see if they appear to be worn or damaged. If they are, you should replace the brushes.
-
Take
apart the grinder part of your coffee grinder, if it appears your motor
shaft is frozen in one place. Clean the shaft and lubricate it with one
or two drops of a lightweight machine oil at each bearing point. Move
the shaft around several times to distribute the oil.
-
Brush
all coffee grounds out from the switches of your coffee grinder. If
your grinder runs intermittently or doesn't seem to stop when you want
it to, chances are you have coffee grounds clogging your switches. Use
a toothpick to push out any coffee grounds from your switches. If you
find grounds inside your grinder itself, chances are you have a faulty
seal and you should replace the seal.
-
Push your motor shaft back and forth. If your motor shaft moves, your bearing is bad and your grinder needs to be replaced.
-
Check
the blades on your grinder, if your grinder tends to vibrate. If one of
your blades is bent, you need to replace the blades.
I hope this helps.
Good luck.
Leaks water when set up for next use
There are many possible points that the leak can be.
All points of the water supply from water tank to the pressure pump then to boiler and finally to coffee group. All this are connected together with plastic or Teflon pipes with easy fit unions secure with clips
You need to disassemble the machine and work it without the side panels of course with extra care since power electrical cables are exposed.
In this way with a very good visual check while the machine is in operation you can identify the leaking point and fix it.
Grinder on Cuisinart Grind and brew does not work
Have you ever heard of the saying: A penny on the rail will prevent a locomotive from starting, but a locomotive will run over the same penny at speed.
This is what I think you have here. A coffee bean is preventing the blades in the grinder from grinding. Just like a garbage disposal, turn the blades (UNPLUG THE MACHINE) backwards to free up the blocked or binding blade, then try again. Depending on the age of the unit and frequency of use, the grinder motor may have failed and needs replacement.
Good luck.

I just called 10 minutes ago and got a response. Call this number and then push #1. Tell the rep that you have 2 themos' and need them replaced but don't have the receipt anymore. The rep will want the #'s on the bottom of them. Said I'd have a replacement in 3 weeks. BTW, mine had same problems as yours but I didn't tell them what was wrong, just that it has a lifetime warrenty and I wanted a new one. Hope this helps you.
