Maytag washer model lat9406aae totaly dead is there a fuse in the washer?
If this does not work on any cycle then make sure you have electricity at your outlet as there is no fuse for this unit.If you have power but it will not work in any cycle then you most likely need a new timer. If the unit will fill and wash but not spin or drain then you most likely need a lid switch.

Good day,
Yes if cold wash and rinse are used only. If the selector is set to warm accidentally, water would fly out of the hot water port when filling. Be careful, or hook up another cold water supply to the hot inlet.
During the spin cycle the machine bounces accross
Hi,
It is not a levleing issue.... there are shocks inside there that help to stabilize the tub when the load is spinning... they are broken and so the tub is out of control...
You will need to tear it apart... find the broken parts and replace them...

Remove top
Hello- You will actually need to remove the front in order to access the 2 screws holding down the top. Unplug the machine before doing any disassembly. To remove the front panel there are 2 screws located near the bottom of the panel on each side. They are hidden by the bevel on the panel and located under where the panel angels in about 4" from the bottom. Look under that bevel and you will see the screws. Remove these and pull the bottom of the front panel towards you and up, the panel will hinge from the top and once you get the bottom up high enough it will drop free of the top. To hinge loosen the top there are 2 bolts located under the top where the side of the cabinets meet the front of the top panel. Once these are removed the top hinges up and back. There is a hose, tube, that comes from the bleach dispenser that you need to pull off from the bottom of the dispenser, there is usual no clamp on this at the top (you will see it on the front right side when you pull the front off). Hope this helps, best regards.
The washer is not spinning well...Clothes are
Hello, when the clothes are partly wet when cycle is complete then check these.
1. Motor coupler
2. Spin cycle
MOTOR COUPLER; To test the motor coupler, restart the washer in it's spin cycle, let the machine runs for a minutes and then open the lid and notice if the tub is spinning: if it's spinning when you lift the lid that means the coupler is fine and if it doesn't spin that means you have to replace it.
SPIN CYCLE: If the washer doesn't reach it's proper spin speed, the cloth may be wet at the end of the cycle, check to be if the load is properly balanced and run a spin cycle again,if the clothes are still wet, you may have a worn or loose belt which you have to replace.
Thanks
My washer is leaking when
draining
Start with inspecting the entire lenghth of the drain hose for any type of pin hole or abrasions that could be the source of your leak.
If the leak seems to be coming from the inside of the machine, take a putty knife or something similar and insert it between the front panel and the top panel that the lid is connected to about two inches in from the edge of the side panels and you should feel a fastener, push inward or towards the back of the machine, you will have to push hard, this will seperate the top and front panels, lift up on the front panel and remove it, now inspect the inside of the machine and try to locate the source of the leak, you may have to run the washer thru different cycles(fill, drain, spin, etc.) to see the leak source.
Pay close attention to the pump area for the leak, this has been a source of leaks in the past, with a plastic pump housing, they have been known to develope leaks by way of holes worn thru the plastic housing!
GOOD LUCK !
LAT 7793 ABL model number.
On Your washer to locate a leak, remove the front panel first. Should be two clips at the bottom of front panel, use a putty knife to pry them down while pulling lower of front panel forward (older models used two screws right through front panel on left and right sides). After getting both lower clips loose, pull bottom of front panel forward to remove from top.
Set front panel aside and then use a 3/8" socket or nut-driver to remove two screws (one each) in the front right and left corners that secure the top to the side panels of the washer (inside in front corners going upwards). After screws are removed slide machine away from the wall about 8-10" and lift front of top up. Will pivot up like the hood on a car. This will allow you to examine machine for leaks.
Let me know when you come up with leak location if you need any more help!!
The machine won't go to wash cycle. It filled
Hi
Thanks for using FixYa. If the cycle doesn't complete/advance, then the first thing that should be checked is the Timer. Timers don't often fail, but if every other part of the dishwasher seems to be working properly and the timer knob seems to be stuck in one place--doing one function continuously--the timer may be at fault. Timers can't be repaired, if yours is defective, replace it. Please do accept the solution if the issue is resolved or post a comment for further assistance.
Thanks
Rylee
Machine comes on fills with water but will not advance
This symptom of the unit filing and then not washing can be caused by few things.
1. The water level pressure switch not making contact to the motor control circuit but shutting off the water valve. There should be 120 VAC on the yellow wire of the water level control pressure switch when the fill level has reached the correct level.
2. An internal timer contact problem for the motor control circuit. Power for the timer motor should also be present on terminal 14 of the timer.
3. A defective motor speed switch. There should also be power on the yellow wire going to the motor.
All of the above power is sourced via the lid switch.
Black wire is power in. You know you have power in... as it fills.

This is going to take a meter to isolate the problem. Changing parts can get expensive but treouble shooting with a meter will result in determining where the failure has occurred.
Thanks for using FixYa.

How do you remove the adgitator?
On the base of the agitator shaft below the cork-screw section you will find a small circular recess. In the center of that circular opening is a 1/4 head screw that you need to remove and this will allow you to pull the agitator out of the washer.
