It sounds to me like makebe the horizontal output trasnistor is out. This is somethign that will need to be repaired by a technictian. If you are going to change this part yourself ( assuming for sure that is the problem ) always be very careful when opening the back of the TV. Always unplug it first, then discharge the picture tube as there could be as much as 30,000 volts of energy stored in it. The horizontal transistor is the biggest, black, nearly square transistor that is located next to the trasformer that has the large red wire going to the picture tube. You will need to solder it in. I do suggest you do have a qualified technitian do the job since there is some danger in working in the tv set.

most liekly these set dont last to long

there is a fuse but that requires taking the set apart, unless you know what you are doing it might not be a good idea with professional help.

but most likely its a total loss since these set are cheaply made and from china.

its would cost more to repair it that to buy a new one.

Go to emersonradio.com. Select Owners Manuals, at the bottom of the list will be SpongeBob. Click on this and it will bring you to a list of model #'s. Select yours.

well first ,there still some remotes available at this website ( www.ebay.com ) write SPONGE BOB REMOTE CONTROL.

AND . . . for unlocking the key , I suggest to go to MENU and go where it says SETTINGS , HOPE THIS HELPFUL.

You need a TV with an A/V input option. I believe your set does not have this option.

You can look at getting an A/V modulator. Check with any local electronics store. The salesman can give you the details about how to set this up with an A/B switch so that you can select between the modulator and the cable system.

That set only has a 90 day warranty, and would be serviced as a customer COD. The unit sounds as if there is a problem with the power cord connection at the rear of the set, or a more serious problem with the power supply...accordianman

It may well be the lens of the DVD player, your best bet is to buy a CD lens cleaning kit and play that through the DVD player.

Check if the power button is ok.

Your going to need the original remote to switch back to AV input in the menu. It should explain in the owners manual how this is done. If you do not have that or cannot find the manual go to a search engine and look up emersom dowmloads it will show up as http://www.emersonusa.ca I think PS dont forget to rate this.

Try another disc and if that fails get a DVD lens cleaner disc. That will clean the lasers lens wich in most cases causes the issue. Don't overlook alot of fingerprints on the dics itself. One thing to try quickly and see if the laser is still working is put an audio CD in and if that plays then most likely the dirt is the factor.

It sounds as though someone set a password without your knowledge. Take your model number and go to Funai's website to look up the owners manual http://www.emersonaudiovideo.com/support/manuals.aspx

You can only have one item plugged in to the ave jack at one time. Seems silly for a tv with two sets of av ins, but i ran in to the same problem and this works. Just unplug the dvd player or the game console.

Check for amplifier section. a deffective IC or deffective speaker may cause this symptom.

I believe that what you are watching are the responses of the portable DVD player on screen menu. How about just trying to get the tv to work for now, then try the DVD again?...accordianman

Contact Emerson Electronics customer service to acquire a replacement remote for this set, as this set does not have the extensive circuitry inside to duplicate the functions of said remote...accordianman
