If you have a remote, the channel is usually labeled "A/V" or "Video". If you don't have the remote, you might need to purchase a universal remote and use that to get on the video mode. Sometimes you can just go down further than channel 2 and it will show the A/V channels.

Your Emerson Sponge Bob's model will be SB350. It is a TV/DVD combo, with two AV inputs too. You ahve to see only DVD player with it as you says. You can change its mode to eiter TV/AV or DVD/TV by its remote control buttons. Press the DVD/TV mode button on the remote control to chage the modes to TV or DVD. On DVD mode, you can play DVDs with it. I thinks that you have its user manual with you now. Go to its pate [23] where there is illustrations for which button on the remote control handset should be pressed to select this. If you haven't its user manual with you, send your email address to me by FixYa comment box. I'll send a copy you the user manual to you by return mail. OK.

I would suggest using a Power Scan to program the remote to this TV, if this doesn't work there is a compatibility issue.
Power Scan
1.) Hold down the clear "TV" button on the remote for four seconds, then press 500 pound ( #)
2.) Hold down the clear "TV" button on the remote for four seconds, press the big power button once.
3.) Press the channel up button once per second until the TV turns off then press pound (#).

Hello, when remote control is not available, there are two options, first look if there is a source selector button, usually located in front of the TV. Next to the buttons that change the volume and chennels, the name of the button can be a source, AV, or video. A second approach is to enter the main menu is also located in front of the TV. See if it is possible to set one up direct connections by default. Unfortunately there are models that without remote control can not be transferred to another source. The spongebob remote is preprogrammed to the tv. If the remote is not working then you may be able to find a universal remote to operate the TV. If the TV is not receiving then no remote will help...

My 2 year old lost our Spongebob Television remote control. To replace, I contacted Emerson Radio at 1-800-909-1240 and they gave me their parts supplier's number 1-800-321-6993. They have replacement remote controls, but for $29.99.

This television has front and back rca jacks. Those are the yellow red and white holes. You would get an rca cable and connect it between this television and the dvd player. Then you would have to change av inputs on the television's remote to access the DVD player's signal.
