More than one ink tank of the following color is installed

Other forums report this problem as a faulty ink cartridge that cannot be recognized or gets recognized as the wrong color. Calling canon tech support will usually result in a free replacement from Canon. If not, try purchasing a new cart before ditching the printer.

Error 5100 all the time!

Hi You can Try

Error Code 5100
Solution 1:
Clean the timing strip.

Solution 2:
The purge cap (the white sliding mechanism that the print head parks to when it's not in use) may be not lubricated well enough .

Lubricate the sliders with some white grease (don't get it on the small wipers or the black caps); this repair probably require to remove the right panel off of the printer to gain access to the purge mechanism.

Dont Forget say thanks

Only prints blue and black

you may need to replace the remaining ink tanks to fill the rest of the color....or if you have done this already, you probably have to clean or replace the print head

Clean The Paper Feed Rollers Using The Unit's Operation Panel If the paper feed roller is dirty, paper is not fed properly because the paper feed roller slips. Cleaning the paper feed roller could resolve the paper feeding problem. Please follow the instructions below to clean the Paper Feed Rollers directly from the unit. Caution: Since the cleaning process wears down the paper feed roller, perform this procedure only when necessary and no more than three (3) times.
  1. Ensure that the machine is powered on and remove any paper from the auto sheet feeder or the cassette.

  2. Use the <Feed Switch> button to select the paper source where you do the paper feed roller cleaning. Click for additional information.

  3. Press the <Menu> button.
