IBM xseries eserver x236 Bios problem: a yellow
Hello,
Try this:
Light path diagnostics
Many errors are first indicated by the illumination of the system-error light in the operator information panel on the front of the server. One or more lights inside the server might also be lit that can direct you to the source of the error. The system information LED lights to alert you that there might be important information recorded in the system-error log. 2. Removing the left-side cover and look at the light panel. These LEDs indicate the type of error that has occurred.3. Once you know the general type of error and the general location of the component involved, the next step is to check the system service label on the outside of the server. This label gives an overview of internal components that correspond to many of the LEDs on the light path diagnostics panel and can help to view lit LEDs inside the server. Note: Some of the LEDs on the light path diagnostics panel will not have a corresponding LED lit on the system board.
Good Luck

I WANT TO INSTALL 2003 SERVER ON IBM X236 BUT IT
Use the IBM configuration disk and it should be able to prepare the
server for what ever OS you need to install. If you don't have it then,
try redoing RAID and reformat the hard drives and try again..You can probably hit F6 during the initial portion of the install and
supply the necessary SATA drivers on a floppy and get it to install.
You will probably need a USB floppy though unless your server has a
floppy drive.
Insert your Microsoft Server 2003 Installation disc into
the CD/DVD-ROM drive and boot the server from the installation disc.
Microsoft Setup will load the files it needs to perform an installation.
Press "Enter" to setup and install Windows.
2
Press "F8" to accept the Microsoft License Agreement.
3
Create a new partition to install the operating system
onto by selecting the "Unpartitioned Space" and pressing "C." If there
is no unpartitioned space, highlight and delete all of the other
partitions on the hard drive by pressing "D." Set the partition size to
the "Maximum Size" and press "Enter."
4
Format your new partition with the "NTFS" or the "NTFS
(Quick)" option. Windows setup will format your hard drive and load the
installation files. Your IBM Netfinity will restart and installation
will continue.
5
Select language and regional setup information, then
press "Next." Enter your name and company name, then press "Next." Enter
your Windows 2003 Server Product Key and press "Next."
6
Select the licensing mode you would prefer to use and
press "Next." Create an administrative account and password and press
"Next." Enter the current time and time zone and press "Next."
7
Setup your Network information by naming the server and defining how it will connect through the net.
Press "Next" to navigate through the network setup screens. Windows
Setup will finish the installation process and provide you with a log-in
screen to use your computer.
If you delete old partitions from the hard drive to install Windows
Server 2003, you will lose all information on those partitions.
Fan problems
Since more then one fan is going crazy after 5 minutes, try these things first:
Make sure the server has enough space where air can ventilate properly. Also make sure there is no dust or dirt sitting on top of the fans cause lack of air ventilation can make the fans start acting up. Also make sure the room is staying nice and cool so that way cool air is being ventilated thru the server.
If you have done these things and your server is still acting up then your motherboard is starting to go bad cause that means the motherboard is having trouble regulating the voltages going thru it and thats why the fans are running really crazy the way they do.
If its just one fan I would say replace the one fan but since both are acting up, I doubt that both fans would go bad at the same time.
IBM xSeries 3550 M3. One fan has failed. While waiting for a replacement can I stop the server from shutting down automatically?
Assuming that this is resolved as it appears to be an old, time-sensitive issue.
Although I would say that what you're asking would have been a design choice on IBM's part. The BMC would dictate fan curve and if one of the fans is not spinning at the minimal RPM - as specified in that fan curve - then it would obviously shut the system down to protect it from heat damage.
You may be able to adjust this using various commands in the BMC but I am not familiar with IBM's hardware. (Which is likely different in the same way that Dell's iDRAC differs from HP's iLO, etc.)
I'd say it's unlikely either way.

I would check the firmware/bios as these had a known issue.
Check with IBM for the latest firmware and BIOS.
Update me if this does not resolve the problem.
Howto clear log on server ibm
Hi,
Server is model is not mentioned.
You can clear logs by this way..
1: Get into BIOS and there you could see server logs. Clear those logs
2: Get into IMM and you can find logs there. Clear those logs (This is applicable to servers with IMM and Uefi firmwares)
3: Get into BIOS and find out IPMI logs. Its under Advanced settings.
Clear those (This is applicable for older x series machines with BIOS firmwares)
Thanks
Exchange 2003 server
Guide events have changed the identification protocol and a refreshment of the input data to the Event ID structure will fix the problem. This must be done within 24 hours of the last formal event or else the system will crash and no longer be salvable.
Cpu fan error
Well it usally means the fan is bad it may work and keep your CPU cool but it can still send the code just replace the fan
