The same model ThinkPadcan have different types of network, video and audio drivers and unless youknow exactly which one is installed in your ThinkPad, you need to download allthe drivers and install each driver until you find the right driver.
When you download thedrivers, write down the device driver and it's file name so you have a recordof which driver you are installing and which directory the unzipped files arelocated on your hard drive.
Go to the IBM/Lenovo WEBsite - support/download page and download the latest Windows XP or Vista devicedrivers for your model computer, Use this link: -
http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/product.do?template=%2Fproductselection%2Flandingpages%2FbrowseByProductLandingPage.vm&sitestyle=lenovo&brandind=10&validate=true
You can download the variousdrivers and then you click on and run the various driver files, they will thenunzip and expand into a sub folder on C:\drivers Then install the variousdrivers from this folder (run the set-up file).

You can reinstall the operating system from a Windows setup disc. When prompted to format the disc, do not. Instead keep the current files system (normally NTFS) so that you don't lose the data from the hard drive. Once the operating system is installed, it will no longer have a password.
Or, you can download a Windows password removal application - use Google to locate one. There are several.

We ran a typical
Thinkpad R51 battery of tests, including games, applications, and a couple other areas. Time constraints limited the amount of testing we could get done before the NDA lift (and it's already a few hours late), but we will be providing a follow-up article with further testing and information. That said, if there are any specific areas that you'd like to see tested, feel free to e-mail me or leave a comment.

Welcome to Fixya
Tryo to perform a power drain first. Take out the battery then unplug to power adapter from the computer. Press and hol the power butron for 30 secs. Put everything back in then turn on the computer. If still no display, you may try using an external monitor just to make sure that this is not a LCD problem.
