IBM T60 can not connect to projector. I have some

Most notebooks have a keystroke that enables the external video port for presentations.

According to the manual for the T60, your Fn +F7 key combination does the following:

"Apply a presentation scheme directly, with no need to start Presentation Director. To disable this function and use the Fn+F7 key combination for switching a display output location, start Presentation Director, and change the settings."

"Switch a display output location
v External monitor (CRT display)
v Computer display and external monitor (LCD + CRT display)
v Computer display (LCD)"

"Notes:
1. This function is not supported if different desktop images are displayed on the computer display and the external monitor (the Extend desktop function).
2. This function does not work while a DVD movie or a video clip is playing."

"To enable this function, do as follows when you log on to Windows 2000 or Windows XP:
Note: Multiple users can log on to a single operating system by using different user IDs. Each user needs to do the following:
1. Start Windows 2000 or Windows XP, and log on to the system.
2. Start Presentation Director, and change the Fn+F7 settings."

Screen is blank when the computer is turned on

The IBM ThinkPad is a brand of laptop computer developed by IBM. In 2005, Lenovo bought out IBM's laptop division. ThinkPads are like most laptops in that their screens are one of their most delicate features. If a screen is exhibiting problems, knowing how to troubleshoot the issue can save you a headful of worries and get you to the source of the problem. No Video If you are experiencing no video from your display, make sure the laptop is powered on. The ThinkPad has a power status indicator on the body and will be illuminated if the computer is turned on. Once you verify that there is power, check that the laptop is not in sleep mode by holding down the "Fn" key for 10 seconds. If you are not in sleep mode, try to toggle the ThinkPad between external display and internal display mode. You can do this by pressing down the "Fn" button with the "F7" key. b> Verify Working Internal Display If you are not receiving any video when your computer is on, there is still a chance it could be a software issue. Turn off your computer. On the ThinkPad A, G, R, T, X and Z series computers, you can boot up in a basic level of the computers operation called BIOS to verify that the screen works. When you restart the computer, press and hold the button according to your model to turn on BIOS. This will either be "Press F1 for BIOS Setup Utility," "To interrupt normal startup, press the blue Access IBM button," or "To interrupt normal startup, press the blue ThinkVantage button." You can find out how to access BIOS for your particular ThinkPad model by referring to your owner's manual. Removing the Screen If you have a picture on your screen, but it is faint as a result of lack of light, adjust your brightness settings by holding down the "Fn" key as well as the "Home" button. If you do not get an adjustment in brightness, you may have a faulty backlight or inverter. If it is the backlight of the screen, you may need to change the inverter board. This is a small circuit board that controls the brightness of your LCD. If your computer is under warranty, take it in to Lenovo and have it repaired. If it is not under warranty, you can attempt to take it out yourself by removing the screen. For this job, you will need a screwdriver as well as a knife. Remove the screws around the screen housing and remove the small plastic covers with your knife to get at hidden screws. Use your knife to pry off the front bezel of the screen. The bezel is a plastic piece that frames your LCD. Remove any screws from around the LCD screen to remove it. At this time, you can replace the inverter board, the LCD panel or the LVDS cable--the low-voltage differential signaling cable that that sends graphics from your computer's graphics card to your screen.

Thinkpad T60 hard disk drive error, cannot boot from any device

First - re-seat the hard disk and reboot the computer. If the computer does not boot up then reboot and go into the BIOS configuration to see if the BIOS detects the hard drive. If it doesn't detect the hard drive then it could be faulty. Then the hard drive needs to be replaced in the computer/laptop, Windows installed and the computer or laptop's device drivers plus your programs etc. to get a functioning computer/laptop again.
