Maytag M3DH30B2A Dehumidifier Questions & Answers
Picked up dehumidifier and transported it to
It may simply be the case of the bucket not being reinstalled properly or that the float valve in the bucket is stuck in the up position, from lying on it's back. Turn the unit OFF & unplug it, before checking these 2 things.

Water is leaking from the
Robert, The water tubing that runs form the interior of the unit to the water bucket is clogged to solve this problem, turn the unit OFF & unplug it. Then do the following.
Remove
the water collection bucket and look up inside the bucket holder
cavity. You will see either a drain hole or small tubing that drains the
water into the bucket. Using an appropriately sized, 18" long, plastic
Zip Tie, carefully insert the tip of Zip Tie into the hole or tubing.
Continue to push it in until you reach a bend in the tubing. You will
need to gingerly work the Zip Tie past this bend, until it either
bottoms out or you run out of usable Zip Tie. Then slowly pull the Zip
Tie back out while rotating (twisting) it. This will breakup any clogs.
As you reach the inserted end of the Zip Tie, be prepared, as some water
may follow. Reinstall the bucket, plug the unit in and turn the Master
ON/OFF Switch to ON. Set the humidity extraction level to 35% or
Maximum if you have a manually controlled unit. Allow the unit to run,
while you monitor it for any leakage.
NOTE: Is you don't have access to a Zip Tie, you can use something similar that flexible, like a long pipe cleaner. But, NO wire coat hangers.

My dehumidifier compressor runs and then shuts
Part of the problem may be that you have the humidity level set to high. The fan runs constantly to move the air around. When the unit senses a humidity level higher than what you have it set for, the compressor turns ON. Once it's ON, if the humidity level is short lived, it turns OFF.
Try setting the humidity level to the lowest possible setting. Usually, that 45%. If the humidity level in you home is higher than that, the compressor should turn ON and run until either the bucket is full or the humidity level reaches 45%. If this doesn't solve the problem, turn the Master ON/OFF Switch to OFF and unplug the unit from the wall outlet for 12-15 minutes. Plug the unit bakc in, turn the Master ON/OFF Switch to ON and set the humidity level at it's lowest setting. Allow the unit to run until it cuts OFF and check the bucket for water. Hopefully that 12-15 minute time out allowed the unit to reset itself.
Hope this helped you to troubleshoot and solve the problem. Please let me know. Thanks.
The unit fills but does
More than likely, the float valve in the water collection bucket is stuck in the DOWN position. There for the automatic shut off does recognize that the bucket is full. Remove the bucket and check the float valve in the top of the bucket. If it's stuck in the down position, jiggle the arm to get to return to the UP position. Be sure to turn the unit OFF & unplug it before doing the above.

DEHUMIDFIER STILL WORKS JUST WONT DRAIN WITH HOSE.
If it won't drain thru the hose, but is draining into the bucket instead, the problem lies either in the hose or the hose connection on the unit. Either one of the other is clogged. Remove the hose first and check for a clog, If none there, it's in the hose connection on the unit.
Use an 18" long, plastic Zip Tie appropriately sized to fit in the hole. Or something similar (NO wire coat hangers, though) and carefully insert it into the hose connection opening. Continue to insert it, until you reach a bend in the tubing. Work it gingerly pass this bend, until the Zip Tie bottoms out or you run out of usable Zip Tie. Then, while rotating (twisting) it, slowly pull it back out. As you reach the end, be prepared for some water to follow.
Also, keep in mind the hose should be no longer than 5 feet and slope downward from the humidifier. It has no pump and relies entirely on gravity to drain the water.
Hope this helped you to troubleshoot and solve the problem. Please be kind enough to let me know. Thanks.
