Kodak EasyShare Z612 Digital Camera - Page 4 Questions & Answers
I cannot format the sandisk
The Ultra card is larger than 2GB, isn't it? The Z612 uses SD cards. If your card is larger than 2GB then it's not an SD card but an SDHC (Secure Digital High Capacity) card. While SDHC cards will fit into SD slots, they are electronically incompatible and will not work. You need to use SD cards 2GB and smaller in the Z612.

Consider NOT connecting the camera to the computer.
The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.
Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive. Or you can use any photo cataloging program.
I asked for assistance because my z612 camera says
Press the Menu button, use up/down to highlight the setup tab (the wrench icon), press OK. Use up/down to highlight "Format" and press OK.
How big is your new memory card? If it's larger than 2Gb then it won't work in the Z612 no matter how many times you try to format it.
The flash on my z612
Hi slyons..... turn on the camera and go into the menu. Find reset. Reset it. What this does is reset it to all of the settings it had when it first came out of the box. Joe
Thanks for choosing Fixya!
What memory card would accept my Kodak Easy Share
According to the manual, the Z612 uses MMC and SD cards.
Be careful not to try SDHC cards. They look similar to SD cards and will fit into the slot but are electronically incompatible. SD cards max out at 2GB in size.
My z612 will not save
Your camera has an additional small battery inside which lasts about five years and is solely for the purpose of maintaining the cameras memory functions. It's not meant to be user replaceable and normally lasts longer than the camera does so is not routinely replaced. Like almost all EasyShare models, the camera was never designed to be repairable in any event.
The battery itself will be a fairly cheap watch-type battery (sorry, I cannot find any resources which identify the exact type), but having it professionally fitted will cost more than the camera is worth. You can therefore either choose to do without those functions or to risk opening the camera yourself to locate and replace the battery but as there are no servicing manuals in the public domain you'll have to work out how best to do so yourself. If you have some experience of similar jobs and are of a practical nature then you should be able to do the job fairly easily, but ensure that you use an earthing strap attached to your wrist or ankle to avoid static electricity damage whilst fiddling around inside the camera.
Good
luck, I hope you manage to use this information to fix your camera.

Hi! I strongly suggest that you remove the battery as a first course of action. After removal, press hold the power button for 15secs. to reset the system then install the battery again. Turn the unit on then see how it goes. Hope this helps and thank you for using FIxYa!

Hye! can we use umberella lights
To use umbrella lights, you need a hotshoe connection on top of the camera to attach a radio transmitter. This would set off the umbrella lights. Some high-end DSLR cameras do this very well.

Hi,
As per your description it seems your camera have internal fault (circuit problem) which only get resolved in Kodak Service Center but before that you can check following things:-
- Clean your battery terminal with soft cloth. (Might be it will filled with dirt or dust )
- Direction of your battery might be wrong, Check out and put it again.
- Load new or fully charged battery.
- Check whether Memory Card/Battery Cover is properly closed.
Thanks....!!
Rating the solution is highly appreciated.
