What size memory card can you use on a kodak easyshare p880

The P880 can use SD cards (NON SDHC) up to 2 Gb. It supports FAT16 filesystem, so 2 Gb is the max. If you frequently use RAW or TIFF you might want to use the fastest you can get (150x)

Can i update camera firmware through a printer dock?

Kodak does not suggest a firmware upgrade through a printer dock. Instead, they recommend using an SD card (memory card). First:
  1. Click Download, then save the firmware file to your computer desktop.
  2. Double-click the *.exe file. When the WinZip Self-Extractor screen appears, select a folder or accept the default location, then click Unzip. The firmware file unzips to the specified folder.
  3. Note the location of the *.FW file, then close the WinZip Self-Extractor.
Instructions:
  1. If you have pictures/videos on your camera's internal memory or on the memory card, save them to your computer.
  2. Ensure that your camera batteries are fully charged.
  3. Turn off your camera.
  4. Insert the memory card into your computer or into a card reader attached to your computer.
  5. Verify that the memory card has at least 100 MB free space.
  6. On your computer, select the removable drive associated with the memory card or card reader.
  7. If a System folder does not exist on the memory card, create one. From the removable drive window, select File > New > New Folder, then name the new folder System.
  8. Copy the *.FW file from your computer into the System folder.
  9. Remove the memory card from your computer or card reader, then insert it into your camera.
  10. Turn on your camera, then follow the instructions to begin the firmware upgrade. The upgrade takes approximately two minutes to complete.
  11. When "Upgrade was successful" appears on the LCD, select Delete Upgrade File to delete the firmware file from the memory card.
  12. Turn off your camera, then turn the camera on to activate the new firmware.

Turns off by itself

I have tried numerous avenues including email solutions from Kodak and possibility of reinstalling the firmware but none worked. I fully believe the problem lies in the power switch - it is no longer making proper contact when in the on position. The only way appeared to be to have it repaired by a camera repair depot preferably one that also happens to be authorized by Kodak. The repair cost estimate given to me was $70 Canadian. Unfortunately I reported the problem after the warranty period had expired and like most corporations today, Kodak absolutely refused to foot any of the bill once the warranty period is over. I have no good reasons to keep Kodak on my list when shopping for another camera. P880 was a great camera except for the unexpected switching off and Kodak has not made a replacement camera with the same degree of sophistication.

Kodak P880 camera won't autofocus. I bought a used

Hi mfkcolumbus,

Did you check the firmware version? If it's not v. 1.02, then get it at the Kodak support site and flash that firmware to your camera. If it is 1.02, then you may try to reflash that same firmware. Sometimes this helps strait'n out things.

Hope this helps.

Lens error wont open

Fixing your problem could be as simple as cleaning the battery contacts in the camera, or the solution could be a lot more complex and expensive. Here's a link to the Kodak Help Center - it provides a simple Q&A format to diagnose the problem and propose a solution.

It reads internal memory but not a memory card

Download the pics from the internal memory if you want to save them. Then: 1. With the memory card out of the camera, go into the menu and find "format"...follow the on-screen instructions. 2. Go into the menu and find "reset"...follow the on-screen instructions. 3. Making sure the slide switch on the side of the card is in the unlocked position, insert the card. Everything should work now.

My Kodak P880 has frozen and will not turn on.

Retry the Firmware upgrade.
Format the SD card in the camera afterwards.

P880 is no longer produces therefor no repair is available due to shortage of spare parts. But a Trade up option is available.
