Changed batteries, won't come off safe mode

Hi. Here is how to get your remote out of safe mode.

1. Connect your remote to the computer.
2. Launch the Harmony Remote Software, and log in.

3. Click "Downloads" at the top and click "Firmware"

4. The remote will go through the firmware update.

5. Select "Yes", and click NEXT to update the remote.

How to program favorite channels in the harmony

The Harmony 520 remote does not support Favorite Channels.

However, you can set this up by creating a sequence to send the number commands for a specific channel, then map the sequence to a button. See the following link for a walk through of how to do that.

Point your remote at a digital camera or cell phone camera, and press some buttons. The end of the remote should light up where the IR commands are sent from.

If it does light up, then you may need to learn your commands. If not, then the remote's IR emmiter may be damaged.

Blank screen on logitech harmony 520 remote

If the firmware didnt help, then it is a hardware issue. You probably got water in the battery compartment or something.

Anyway you should call Logitech support for a warranty claim. Or, you can do it by taking a look at the following link:

Stuck on welcome screen

This means there is a button stck down!

1. Remove the batteries.
2. Push in, and massage each button to ensure that they are not stuck down.
3. Update the firmware.
4. Update the remote.

2. Connect your remote to the computer.

3. Launch the Harmony Remote Software, and log in.

4. Click "Downloads" at the top and click "Firmware".

5. The remote will go through the firmware update.

6. Select "Yes", and click NEXT to update the remote.


If the screen is still blank after you complete these steps, then it is a hardware issue and you should contact Logitech's wonderful support team, given that the remote is still under warranty.

How to set remote after changing batteries

I assume the your remote is no longer working after you replaced the batteries? If that is the case please do the following.

1. In the software, click "Downloads", and click "Firmware"
2. After the remote has updated the firmware, click "Update Remote"


That should resolve any issues that you are having.

Hey!

I had this same issue with my Harmony Remote. Logitech sent be these steps and they got it working right!!!

1) Remove the battery from the Harmony Remote for 10 seconds and reinsert it. If this does not resolve the issue, please continue troubleshooting.
2) Ensure you have the latest version of the Harmony Remote Software (7.7).
3) Update the firmware on the Harmony Remote. The following link shows how to complete this task:

4) Try putting the Harmony Remote in safe mode and complete the firmware update again. The following are the steps to accomplish this:
a) Remove the battery from the Harmony Remote.
b) Press and hold the power button while reinserting the battery into the Harmony Remote.
c) To get out of safe mode, remove the battery for 10 seconds and reinsert it into the Harmony Remote.

I hope this gets the display on your Harmony Remote working too!!!
