If it just make tick sounds, but does not power up and does not do its normal startup, it probally the power supply board on this printer has failed. This printer like most modern electrical appliances has a switching power supply. The ticking sound is the power supply trying to start, but it senses a fault and shuts down and tries to restart.

I had a similar problem with my printer, though it not the same model (CLX-3160) but the same manufacturer Samsung. I took mine appart and found that one of the capacitors on the power supply had failed. It was blown and the top of the capacitor popped open. I am not saying this is your problem but it would be the first thing I would check if you want to get this fixed. Otherwise, look for a new printer.

If the problem is coming only when coping thats mean there are few things that could gone wrong.The first thing to do is to check the scanner lamp.Open the top cover and press the copy button.The scanner should start moving and flashing.If the scanner is moving but no light i coming out of it means you scanner is broken or the cable(scanner-forrmater)is broken.If the scanner is moving and flashing but there is no image means the scanner forrmater board is broken.Please replay if you need futher help!!!

Make sure you attach a dsl filter to the Samsung. Should look like this: Samsung/filter/phone line. Should be installed like this: filter to Samsung bottom phone jack, phone line to filter. Attach the home phone to the upper extension jack from the Samsung.

if you replace toner and didnt close front cover properly or you open it and didnt close properly.
