Hi I found a manual for your phone here; http://pdf.textfiles.com/manuals/TELECOM-S-Z/Samsung%20Prostar%20816%20Plus%20System%20Admin%20-%20Specia.%20Features%20Guide.pdf and it would appear (page 2) that your phone / zone is operating in "Night Service Operation" which presumably mutes the ringing tone. Menu-setting-Date&Time- Select Automatic Time zone or Do manually by unselect automatic time zone and you should make change as per your region...

Try to turn on and turn of the unit then check for the settings if theres available if theres no settings for it check the key pad of your phone you can see a diagram like volume just make a long press on it

root your phone and edit call ring delay in build.prop in the root of your phones system storage.

Did you add the receptionist's extension to the night answer ring group? Her phone has to ring for it to have ringing line preference.

Hi, have you checked that the number is ringing at a group? to do this enter customer programming;
TRSF 200

1 to enable
press your speaker key
enter 714

The screen will display;

DID DGT (001)

DGT : XXXXX

Press the volume key until you get to the number you wish to program, when you have reached this press the 3rd soft key under the screen (TAB) until you get to the DDI Destination which will display:

1 : XXX 2 : XXX

Enter the extension number OR the group number which you want this DDI to ring at. (1= day ring plan , 2= night ring plan, unless other ring plans are in place on the system )

It does have caller ID however you need to check that your call carrier is supplying inbound CLI. check on your handset that it is set to show this by pressing TRANSFER 119 then use the volume key to set it to show name or number first. check out http://www.abbeytelecom.com it has loads of Samsung DCS programming and training videos, I posted one as a example for you

Hi this would be altered in MMC502, however if you put a call on hold by pressing the hold key twice it will hold (this is called exclusive hold) the call will be held there indefinitely. To change the ringing on a Prostar 816 you first need to be at a display set (doesn't matter what the extension number is).
with the handset down, enter #20 the screen should say MMC DISABLED
enter in 1 2 3 4 1 # (that enables programming)
enter in #62 the screen should say day ring assn
press the line you wish to program
press the buttons for the extensions that you wish to ring (the ones in the right next to the handset)
press # when finished with the line
repeat steps 2 through 5 for the remainder of the lines you wish to change
press # when finished.

Hi, you can set Do Not Disturb on the prostar 816 by dialling 401, to take off Do Not Disturb dial 400, leave the handset down when doing this, a softkey can also be programmed as a DND key if this makes life easier. Hi, at the extension in question, with the handset down press the Transfer button, then dial 103, using the volume key scroll threw the options until you get to 'Ring mode' on the screen, when you get to this press the Transfer key again. Hi I have posted a video for you which shows how to forward calls, you need to find out what the Voice Mail number is, so that you can set the forward to this number. there are various options for forwarding, 'All Calls' and 'Busy , No answer' are the best options, if the one uploaded is wrong chech out 'abbeytel' on Youtube where you will find the right one. Hi, this can be done at customer level programming, first add all extensions that you want to ring into a group ie 500, this is done in MMC 600, add them as members. Once you have done this you need to go to MMc 714 and set the group you have chosen as the destination corresponding to that incoming phone number.
