Samsung DCS 40 Prostar

Could you repost your question and tell me the type of phone system you have, you say it is a DCS 40 Prostar but I do not recall the 40, only the 408, 612 and 816. also MMC 601 is for station groups and 603 is for trunks. I'll be glad to help if you can clear this up for me. Thanks, .....Mike

Samsung 816 plus

There are several MMC to make the phones Ring. Do you have a Station Ring Group where several phones ring at the same time ? This is set up in MMC 601, then you set the trunks to ring to that group in MMC 406. Good Luck and let me know how it goes. ....Mike

Prostar 816 Toll Restriction

The Station Toll Class of the phone needs to be changed to a Toll Class 5 which allows 911 calls and certain numbers set in MMC # 94. The program to do this is MMC # 30. The problem is when MMC # 30 is accessed it displays the Toll Class for all 16 phones so use caution that you do not change the wrong extension. If you still need help with this problem please repost and I can walk you thru the process.

PROSTAR 816 PLUS

First to change the clock to a 12 hour instead of a 24 hour requires a bit of CAUTION. You have to go into the technician level of programming so be careful. From a display phone, Press #, ( Programming ) is displayed, enter 20, ( MMC Disabled ) is displayed, enter password ( 1 2 3 4 is default ), enter function 4 for 12 hour clock, enter # to exit. If the time and date are displayed wrong you have to go to # 55 and reset time and date.
YY MM DD W HH MM format. W = Day of week with 1=Monday and HH MM must be entered in Military time even though you have a 12 hour clock set. Good Luck

Speaker phone light continually blinks

The blinking light on the speaker button means the forward when busy is on. To cancel it- With the handset on-hook dial #12.
Then press your own station number. Then dial # again. The speaker button should stop flickering.
Note: If the SPK button continues to flicker, Forward all is activated. It is the same process as above but use #11 instead of #12

Phones won't ring

All the phones should be connected to the same phoneline, for examble you can pick up the phone in the lower floor and at the sametime on the 2nd floor and you can yell at your staff for free. Without calling any numbers. Also they all should ring at the same time when connected to the same phone line.

I think you currently have the phones on difrent phonelines / numbers.

Also by haveing all the phones on the same phoneline only one call can be made at a time.

Instead of putting all the phones on the same phoneline you could take one phone, on the same phonenumber / line as your desk phone and take it to upstairs. thisway both phones will ring.

Samsung IDCS 28D system: How do I unblock access to outside lines? No lights show on the dead lines. Handset works in other offices.

It is possible that the outside lines have been blocked in the programming of the Samsung IDCS 28D system. You can try the following steps to unblock the outside lines:
  1. On a phone that is working, press the TRANSFER button and dial 200.
  2. Enter your system password. If you don't know your system password, you may need to contact your phone system administrator or service provider.
  3. Press 713 for "Line Block Release".
  4. Press the button for the line that is blocked (in your case, all 4 lines).
  5. The display should show "RELEASE OK" for each line that is unblocked.
  6. Hang up the phone.
If this doesn't work, it is possible that the phone system may need further troubleshooting or programming by a technician.

Samsung iDCS 28D Calls not going to VM after canceling a forward on no answer

It's possible that when you cleared the forward on no answer, the voicemail setting on your Samsung iDCS 28D was not properly restored. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can try:
  1. Check your voicemail settings: Dial 604 and press the "Speaker" button. Enter your extension number and press the "Speaker" button again. The system should confirm that you have entered the correct extension number. If it does not accept your extension, try dialing from a different phone to make sure that your extension is still active.
  2. Verify your call routing: Dial 601 and press the "Speaker" button. This will show you the current call routing for your extension. Verify that "No Answer" is set to go to your voicemail box. If it is not, you can change it by pressing the "Speaker" button and entering the appropriate code for voicemail (usually "72").
  3. Restart the phone system: If the above steps do not work, try restarting the phone system. You can do this by unplugging the power cable from the phone system for a few seconds and then plugging it back in.
If none of these steps resolve the issue, you may need to contact your phone system administrator or IT support for further assistance.
