There is no way of brightening the LCD however the Prostar 816 display phone, however it is designed so that the display tilts to deflect the lights. Hi, at the extension in question, with the handset down press the Transfer button, then dial 103, using the volume key scroll threw the options until you get to 'Ring mode' on the screen, when you get to this press the Transfer key again. The flashing SPK key means that your station has been forwarded.
To cancel call forwarding, with the handset down, press #11, then press your own DSS button (the intercom button field between the dialpad and the handset). then press # again.
If the SPK button continues to flicker, then the call forward when busy is activated. It is de-activated the same way except you press # 12 instead of # 11.

Hi this is a great feature on the Samsung Prostar, I actually find the screen prompts easier to follow than the pre-programmed button. Whilst on a call the display will read ' CONF PAGE MUTE' press the 1st small button under CONF. then dial the number, externally or internally, that you want to bring into the conference. then press CONF again twice, this links the members together, you will see that the CONF is now under the 3rd softkey. up to 5 people can be on a call at one time if you have enough channels (lines) available. Hi Lisa, it sounds like you need to take the phones that you don't want to ring out of the ring group, to find out which group rings you will need to go into MMC714 ( I've uploaded a video which will help you) once you know which group this is you can then go into MMC 601 and delete those members. Hi, you can set Do Not Disturb on the prostar 816 by dialling 401, to take off Do Not Disturb dial 400, leave the handset down when doing this, a softkey can also be programmed as a DND key if this makes life easier. Hi, this can be done at customer level programming, first add all extensions that you want to ring into a group ie 500, this is done in MMC 600, add them as members. Once you have done this you need to go to MMc 714 and set the group you have chosen as the destination corresponding to that incoming phone number. Hi I have posted a video for you which shows how to forward calls, you need to find out what the Voice Mail number is, so that you can set the forward to this number. there are various options for forwarding, 'All Calls' and 'Busy , No answer' are the best options, if the one uploaded is wrong chech out 'abbeytel' on Youtube where you will find the right one. Hi to program your company name onto the Samsung Prostar so that it displays on screen when a caller dials in. Press transfer 200 then 1234 then 1 to enable. Now dial 714. in brackets you will see the cursor under (001) use the volume key to find your main phone number, when you have done this use the small 3rd button under the screen of the Samsung prostar LCD. keep pressing untill you find DGT written , now type in what you want the display to read. This sounds like an internal message that a colleague has sent you hoping for a call back, to delete these memos you need to program a key to be a MSG button then follow the prompts an the screen. Once you have cleared these you can than re-program the button to be it's original function. Hi the samsung prostar has a comfort tone when on hold, which is basically a beep which just lets callers know that their call hasn't been dropped, in order to get music you have to purchase an external MP3 player which then needs a telecoms engineers to program to the system, Sorry if this is not very helpful to you, however I have posted you a samsung prostar 816 training video, there are more of these on Youtube covering lots af topics which might be of help to you in the future. This sounds like the extension has not been put into the ring group, as it is the pick-up key which is flashing on your prostar 816. you need to enter customer level programming and find out in MMC 714 which group is set up to ring and the go to MMC 601 and add the extention to the correct group under the members section. To change the ringing on a Prostar 816 you first need to be at a display set (doesn't matter what the extension number is).
with the handset down, enter #20 the screen should say MMC DISABLED
enter in 1 2 3 4 1 # (that enables programming)
enter in #62 the screen should say day ring assn
press the line you wish to program
press the buttons for the extensions that you wish to ring (the ones in the right next to the handset)
press # when finished with the line
repeat steps 2 through 5 for the remainder of the lines you wish to change
press # when finished.

The display phones show prompts on screen to help with the setting up of a conference call, please be aware that this supports up to 5 users at one time, depending on how many channels (lines) you have installed. If you have tried clearing the message by following the prompts on the the message key and this doesn't work, try going into MMC 722 and assigning a key to be MSG. then once you have done this try to clear the message following prompts on your screen.I have uploaded a video showing how to program the soft key, written tutorial is on www.abbeytelecom.com
