Samsung LE32R41BD 32 in. HD-Ready LCD Television - Answered Questions & Fixed issues

I was having the same issue with a Samsung 4053 40"

Comcrap had no clue.

Their phone rep suggested I come in and trade out the remote. That seemed unlikely if others are having the same experience. It is also unlikely a phone rep would have any answer other than what on the web page.

I used 5 digit code "10060" and it worked got the double flag from the remote like Comcast's documentation says. It turns TV on and off and works volume. So far so good.

The key to figuring it out was getting the double flash on the remote 4 digits didn't 5 did.

The moral of our story? Comcast has no clue what they push out the door. I guess that isn't a surprise to anyone.

Back - light problem. Check and replace damaged component/s at its back-light inverter board, or replace this board as card basis. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Surf the site with patience. Pull up older posts. It will be best to replace the inverter board as card basis.

To some model sets; especially LED back-lighted types; the back-light inverter circuit will be part of the main power supply board [SMPS]. In such cases, the power supply board might need replacement. To some models sets, the back-light inverter and SMPS section circuit will be integrated at its main board itself. If so; the main board should be replaced. To some models of sets, all these section circuit will be integrated at its main board. If this is the case, you have to replace the main board.

If you are connected to a high definition cable box or satellite tv box you would not need to turn to channel 3 on your television. The television would need to be in the right input either component or hdmi. If someone connected the tv to the cable box or satellite tv box with a coax cable like an antenna cable then the tv channels will be available on channel 3 as well but they will not display in high definition. You change channels with the cable box/satellite tv box remote control. If the above is not correct and you are only connected to an antenna cable and not to a cable box or satellite tv box you will need to complete a channel search from the tv menu. It sounds like you are using a cable box/satellite tv box and that the tv is on the wrong input. If the cable box/satellite tv box is not working (i.e. just a black screen) on your television than that is a different matter entirely.

Info doesn't bring up the program listing. It just tells you about the current programme. You'd know this if you read the manual.

If you watch a list of the TV programmes, then you need to press the buttons listed on page 57 of the manual.

Try turning on the HDMI source first. Then switch to it on the tv. Are you running through a sound bar? If you have a sound bar, then it needs to be turned on first.

What is the system of transmission to German transmissions? Is it PAL? If so, you can set its country code option, by entering its service mode option. In this option, you will get a section to change its country option. If the Samsung model TV of yours' have facility to receive German transmission, check this mode. Check and ensure correct settings are selected and correct color system is selected like PAL/Secam etc. Change input device to some other like a DVD player. Switch off TV, switch off power, remove plug and wait for 48 hours and retry. If problem persists, call in a qualified service technician.

you need to check weather the power supply has complete output dc voltages 5v stand by, 5v detect 12v-16v for audio and tuner and 24v for back light. if just only an stand by voltage, the cause is either the power supply failed or the main board detect an error in the inverter board .

LCD sets use a pair of boards (sometimes combined into one board) to drive the display panel on left and then on right side.

Names vary but are fairly easy to research with the model number and Google.

Names like sustain, T-con, inverter etc.

As a repair man I always hated that--had to disconnect the speakers and use a scope.

Most likely reason is the volume up control---a micro switch beneath the manual button on the set is bad.

These are momentary switches--only supposed to work when touched/pushed---they will feel good but have failed and are making contact all the time instead of just when pushed.

Only way to prove or disprove this is get at the keyboard and in your case locate (they can with set off be checked for resistance--should be no reading) is locate that volume up switch and unsolder it.

If problem is gone (your ears feel better) you have two choices : live with the switch removed and operate for that function with the remote.

Usually they only sell the complete circuit board with all the buttons for a set.

I would if could control volume just live with it gone.

Let me know if questions.
