Weak or no signal message

  1. Since my problem (Samsung/Comcast) began with a channel selection button pushed on the TV remote when it should have been pushed on the cable remote, I figured the problem lay with the TV.  Although I was getting the "weak or no signal" msg., the actual signal strength bar graphic showed it to be strong. Disconnecting did no good. I surmised that the TV was simply not recognizing the box.
  2. I looked at the manual for my Samsung 750 model.
  3. Page 20 discussed "Selecting the source". I accessed the TV menu and selected "Input", then chose the "HD..." item from the highlighted list. Voila! My tv works again.

Also, try adjusting the settings on your cable box, not on the TV. The usually solves the problem and will then allow you to adjust the size of the picture.

LCD TV

I had a problem with a Samsung 46 inch LCD and it had audio and dim light but no picture and found out that the logic board toward the top (inside tv) was bad and was no longer available and the only way to fix it was to get the entire display panel (the logic board came with it) It was not costwise to repair. Hope this helps.

Actually it a lnt5271f, but...

there is a differnece between other TV's in the house working and the TV at that specific location working. Check the cable splitters which go into that room and tighten the cables at all ends..loose/broken cables cables can result in weak signals. It might be a bad splitter too.

Help for a friend; ln-s4095d, hdmi and blu-ray.. no picture

You may want to try a good, Monster Cable, HDMI cable. Visit this page: http://www.monstercable.com/HDMI/advancedhdmi.asp
If you have a standard HDMI cable, it will not support 1080P.

So this is one of the few times that I will recommend spending the money for a better cable.
The better cable improves picture color quality, from 8 bit to 12 bit and it improves audio quality.

How do I troubleshoot my Samsung TV? I have sound, but no picture.

Caps can fail with no outward signs. It takes a special meter to test them. Your set may have a back light inverter that powers the back lights. When it fails, the picture cant be seen, but you have sound, to check this look for a picture on the screen using a flashlight

Increase brightness in samsung tv

Check and replace damaged component/s at its back-light inverter board, or replace this board as card basis. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Surf the site with patience. Pull up older posts. It will be best to replace the inverter board as card basis. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/ In some models of LCD TVS; the backlight inverter and its T'Con board will be a part of the panel itself, and will be a built-in type inside the LCD panel. If so, they can't be replaced. In this case; a panel replacement is the only repair. For some other models, the backlight inverter section circuit will be a part of the main power supply regulator [SMPS]. To such sets, the power supply section circuit too should be troubles hooted. Contact any service technician. The circuit will differ with models and versions. Type in the brand name of your device, in the search box [at the top right] of the display window and the Search will start at once as you type in, and will show you all the related posts. It will make surf easy.
