My SanDisk is a portable USB/ compatible to IMAC?
although your mp3 player may not officially be imac compatible, it should still plug in and be recognized by your imac just fine, you just wont be able to use any software that may or may not come with the mp3 player, however given that its not a zune (microsoft product) and that its not an ipod, it should work perfectly fine, and you should be able to simply drag and drop your music onto the mp3 player when it is recognized by your imac. just be sure to copy the files over to it while its plugged in by using the file browser of your mac.
How to download?
When you connect the MP3 player to your computer with the supplied USB cable then computer detects the player as an external storage device or a Removable disk, you can then view the folder on your MP3 player. Open the music folder and create a new folder on the player exactly the same way you create a folder on your computer's hard drive. To organise your music, make a folder name with the name of the music album and place the album's MP3 files in this folder, then copy the mp3 files from the computer into this folder. You will then be able to select the music you want to play by the music album folder. To delete a file from your MP3 player, connect the supplied USB cable to your player and then plug it into the USB port of your computer. The computer will detect your player then click on this device to view the files, you can then click on the music file to highlight the file and then press the Del key to delete the file off your MP3 player. Check the specification of your MP3 player to determine the type of video file format it uses. Most common video files that MP3 players use are, AVI and WMV, there may be others such as FLV, MOV and DivX. If your player cannot play a video then it is an incompatible video file format, then you need to convert that video file to a format that your MP3 player uses. After video conversion then copy the video files to your MP3 player using the USB cable from your computer. Click on this link for instructions on converting video files for MP3 players :-

You can download mp3 music files from the Internet to your computer and then copy them to your MP3 player using the USB cable. For your CD collection, you need to convert your CDs to mp3 music files onto your computer or download them from the Internet and then copy them to your MP3 player after you have connected the USB cable to the MP3 player and the computer. You can do this using Windows Media player and Rip the CDs - Media Player will create a MP3 music file for each music track.
My Sandisk m240 is not recognized by my pc, or does not appear in My Computer when connected to my pc.
When i download a picture or video it down loads
You need to use the supplied Sansa Media Converter program to convert pictures and videos to a format the Sansa can handle. If you don't have the SMC, you can download the Windows version from http://www.megaupload.com/?d=3IPZO6Q0
