SanDisk 8gb drive with u3 installed How can I

  1. Run the launchpad program.
  2. Double click on the icon to open up the main windows.
  3. Click on Settings and the U3 Launchpad Settings.
    u3settings-245x300.jpg
  4. Click on Uninstall tab on the side and then Uninstall U3 Launchpad. Before you do this, make sure all the programs on the flash have been closed and all the explorer windows are closed, too.
    u3uninstall-300x243.jpg
After uninstallation, the drive has only one partition. The pesky ready only partition with U3 program is gone.

Want to remove U3 software and completely wipe SanDisk Cruzer Micro flash drive.

Try using a tool like Rufus http://rufus.akeo.ie/ to format the drive to its full capacity. There are links on the page to other usb utils.

Stopped working COMPLETELY!!!!

Had same problem.

I wiggled back and forth the part that goes into the USB port and the drive was recognized and I could copy my files onto my hard drive.

I had this problem with a different make USB flash drive and used the same procedure to get the files back.

I think that some connection inside the flash drive works loose after a while.

I am not going to trust these drives for files storage, but only to transfer files.

I forgot my password to open this jump drive. My

Retrieving a forgotten password on a Cruzer Enterprise drive How do I recover the password on my Cruzer Enterprise drive? Password hint
If you set a hint when you enabled the password protection, click Hint in the log in window to display the hint you entered. If you did not set a hint or still can not remember your password, you can click Forgot Password on the logon window and choose a new password. This will reformat the drive.
Reformatting will delete all files and applications in the user-accessible removable partition.

Password attempts
There is a limit of 10 attempts (default) before the drive is locked and no further access is possible. During this process, you MUST change the password and reformat the drive. This is an important security feature, protecting data in lost devices from brute force hacking attempts.
Reformatting will delete all files and applications in the user-accessible removable partition.

Cruzer Enterprise drive managed by CMC (Central Management and Control)
A drive managed by the Cruzer Enterprise CMC software can be unlocked remotely by the System Administrator when it is inserted into an online computer. The System Administrator can unlock the drive remotely even after the maximum failed password attempts has been reached. The user must then choose a new password. Data stored in the removable partition will be preserved.

If the device is managed but in an offline computer, the System Administrator can send the user a one-time unlock code. The user must enter the code then choose a new password. The existing data on the removable partition will be preserved.
hope this helps

Some pendrives are not good with the newer operating systems. Try one from a different manufacturer. Or try a different USB slot.

I forgot my password...i had set an hint still i cant remember

If you have access to another computer with a CD burner, you can download Hiren's Boot CD, which has a utility to clear Windows passwords. Also, you can download/create an Ubuntu live CD that will do the same. If you don't have access to another computer, I'm sorry, but the only way I know around that is to do a complete Windows reinstall off your original Windows CD.
